Remove category from meta details on single view

Hi,

I used an event category (“Front Page Banner”) to designate which events to feature on the front page. When I navigate to the single event view, the category “Front Page Banner” is listed in the meta details. What is the best way to filter out specific categories from the meta details?

Or

Is there a better way to designate events to be listed on the front page?
