Most of the events on the Radiant Body Yoga website are multi-day events. I’m noticing that the Related Events section on these events inevitably includes the current post–the event we’re actually on the single page for. (See https://kiamiller.com/event/navel-intelligence-developing-core-awareness-2/ for an example.) I’ve tried modifying the tribe_related_posts_args as described in this thread, but without success.

I know that TEC sees recurring events as separate entries; does it also do that with multi-day events? It’s one event, and even if it’s still going to be going on the day after it starts, in the case of these classes you have to register in advance and start on the first day, so there’s just no point showing it in the related events section.

I realize that you’re very limited in the kind of code customization help you can supply, but I’d really appreciate any suggestions.

I’ll include my system information in case it’s useful. (BTW, you might want to update this form to recommend Twenty Sixteen instead of Twenty Fourteen.)

Hi Kia. Thanks for your detailed question.

The Related Events displayed at the bottom of the Single Event view should NOT be suggesting itself as a related event.

However, if you have an event by the same name but on a different date (like in a series of recurring events), it may be referring to another instance in that series of related events.

To be clear, the code for Related Events excludes recommending itself as an event related to itself.

If you are experiencing that, another plugin may be conflicting with the query logic or something like that (e.g. I see you have Event Rocket activated), in which case, this is our general troubleshooting advice:

Please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks.
