GuestMorning from sunny Barcelona
We have a client for whom we are coding a directory of “Gyms” – worldwide listings at +100K
Each gym can have a number of staffers (teachers) which are linked to the gym, but also available as a custom CPT (so that gym teachers can sign up independantly, link to the gym/gyms they work at, but retain their own listing identity (for free lance teachers for example, or for events they hold outside of the gym privately).
Our data structure
– Spots (or Places) are locations (f.ex a gym with multiple locations) and is linked to a particular gym / teacher or user (subscriber)
– Teacher is geolocated and linked to gym(s) where they work at (think part-time teachers)
– Gym is geolocated and has child links to spots and teachersSo here is the tricky part. Classes / Events
Events:
We need to link the events to a location or venue. But we don“t want to duplicate venues but insted limit the selection to
a) existing gym or spot listings (select from), which we already have in place.
b) give community members the option of adding their own locations (this is for the case of user events).Classes
Same hereAnd, now comes the fun part, we need to be able to display these on a map…
Is this possible?

KeymasterHi Christian,
Thanks for reaching out!
Whoa, that’s quite a setup that you want to achieve.
Out of the box that is surely not possible with our plugins. In order to achieve that you will need some extensive customization, which we are unable to support as per our terms.
By default you can add more organizers (teachers) to the events, but only one location.
When you create an event, you can choose from an existing list of venues (locations) and organizers, or if you want, it also allows you to create new ones. I guess the adding new can be disabled with a code, though didn’t see any requests for that yet.
With Events Calendar PRO you do get the possibility of showing venues on maps.
As said, we are very limited in supporting customizations, especially of this scale.
I think your best bet would be to reach out to an independent developer, like one of them to help you out. They are not affiliated with us and well known in our community.
Let me know if you have further questions.
Cheers,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
