Recurring Events in Photo View

Is there a way to show just the first event in a recurring series when I’m in photo view?

I have the box ticked in settings, but it doesn’t seem to help. Does it work for photo view?

This feature should work, and I haven’t been able to replicate this error on my testing environment. Could you please follow the steps here to test for conflicts and let me know what you find out?
