ParticipantHi there.
We just upgraded to PRO to make use of recurring events and to have advanced widgets.
On the single event page for a recurring event, the auto-generated link toward the top that appears is “Recurring Event (See all)”. In this case, it generated http://maplestaror.org/event/coos-bay-training/all/ . That url seems to be broken; it hangs for over 5 minutes, taxing the system, and then eventually, it loads a 502 Bad Gateway error: 502 Bad Gateway / nginx
So far: not loving it.

ParticipantAlso: we’ve discovered that this is happening for the url’s to the organizers’ pages, as well. See: maplestaror.org/organizer/margaret-johnson/

ParticipantI just wanted to update this and say that I have since attempted:
1) disabling all other plugins (these pages still broke);
2) switching to Twenty Eleven for the theme–this fixed things. So, it seems this is incompatible with my client’s theme, which is a child theme of Theme Magic. Any clues as to where to go from here?

ModeratorHello and thanks for the post,
Glad to hear you’ve narrowed it down to the theme. Unfortunately, theme support extends beyond the scope of support we’re able to provide. However, I would love to point you in the right direction.
Please review our Testing for conflicts and Themer’s Guide articles. Both will give enough insight to where you should be able to get the theme and plugins to play nicely.
One other idea would be to try different options under Events > Settings > Display. Best of luck with the customizations and thanks for choosing PRO!

ParticipantHi, Hunter–
Wow, https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/ was extremely helpful. The very first suggestion for a theme conflict was testing to see if the issue was the theme override we had in place (/ourtheme/tribe-events/…) and renaming that folder fixed the issue.
The theme override we have up there–/ourtheme/tribe-events-bak/list/single-event.php–was not actually overriding the main single-event.php template anyway (which I submitted as a separate ticket–not sure if it’s not working because of being incompatible with our theme?). So I’m really relieved this was such an easy and painless fix.
Thanks for the helpful response!
Best,

ModeratorHi Devra!
Hooray! I’m relieved to hear you’ve got the conflict addressed!
Keep that article bookmarked and if you’re ever experiencing any issues, try running through it before opening a new thread. Most of the time, it is in fact a conflict. Having that information makes it much easier when working towards a resolution. As always, if you run into any troubles, feel free to open a new thread and we’ll always try our best to help you out.
Thank you for the update and again, glad to hear you’ve got it taken care of! Good job! I’ll close this thread out, but feel free to open a new one if you run into any more issues. Have a good weekend and thank you for choosing PRO 🙂
