ParticipantHi There,
I reached out to you earlier in the year (hard to believe this one is nearly over!) about some issues we were facing with the recurring piece on your module.
In brief we wanted to have a seperate capacity for each recurring event as althought the shows are identical in terms of the times/offering/price.. each of them needed to have a capacity so when it was sold out tickets would not display on the site.
We also needed to have the ability to print off an attendee list for each single night that the event was on.
Geoff mentioned that this was something you guys were working on and planned to release it in yur next update.
Im just wondering are you any closer with this and if so can you give me any idea of timefrmae?

MemberGood evening James and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.
For now, alas, support of separate tickets for recurring events is not available.
The only available workaround is to create the recurring events and then use the built-in functionality to break it down to separate events. We are still planning on adding that much request feature.
However, we have found that this will likely require a major overhaul of our recurring event module. We would like to add that ASAP, but there is no specific date available for now as we are carefully prioritizing for next year with all sorts of great features to choose from.
I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.
Have a great day!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for the reply, and Happy New Year!
You mentioned about the fact we can use the recuring events, and then use the built in functionality to break it down to individual events. Can you advise where/how this can be done?
Cheers

MemberGood evening James,
Thank you for writing back.
To break recurring events down to individual events is fairly simple:
- Create the recurring event series
- Go to the Events screen (the one that provides the list of all events) in your WordPress backend
- Hover over any event from the recurring series until options appear for that event
- Click on “Edit single”
That will break that event from the series 🙂
Let me know how that goes.

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks for this.
I also have another question to ask! Hope you dont mind.
In summary my client will only ever have one show, thats at the same location runnning for maybe 200 nights a year. THis show will have say 6 ticket types (adult, show only, show & Dinner, students etc) all of which have different prices. AS I have it set up now I can only add tickets to events manually, but is there a way we can use the same tickets (maybe set up in woo commerce products) and publish them to all the shows?
However we would need to have a single capactity for each show (I presume if we use ticket ! in all the shows, that this would not effect the capacity i.e we are using the same ticket A in all the shows.
Really appreciate your help on this
Cheers

MemberHey James,
I am glad that helped.
As for your other question, I can totally see how it would save you a ton of time to be able to reuse the same template over and over again.
With that in mind, I would highly discourage you from reusing the same WooCommerce products (tickets) over and over again.
This can create all sorts of issues (attendee reports come to mind) and would make single capacity for each show pretty much impossible.
What you really need is the ability to either completely duplicate an event (including the tickets) or some kind of “ticket template” solution.
I know we have a ticket open for such a feature. In fact you can vote on it here: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/3825421-reusable-ticket-defaults-profiles-as-per-venues-a
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned!
In the meantime, you could experiment with the different Custom post type duplication plugins to see if that could include tickets (admittedly this has not been tested). One such plugin is actually specifically made for events: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/
As an alternative, you could have that programmed as a customization. You could hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.
Best regards,
Geoff B.
