When I try to create an event that recurs on the same day, different time I get an “invalid date” message on the admin side and the front end says the event recurs on an “unspecified date”.

I think I have found another related issue. I have an event that takes place multiple times a day, multiple days a week. It doesn’t show any errors on the admin side but on the website any of the events after the 1st event of the day return 404 errors. Which is obviously really embarrassing for my site. Please help me fix this ASAP!

Good evening Ines and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you have faced while adding recurring events on the same day as the original event. I would love to help you with this topic.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this top priority glitch.
We are actively working on a solution for this, as we take this very seriously.

I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed, as it’s in the development team’s hands now.
They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release.

The good news is that you will be contacted as soon as a fix is available.
Thank you for your patience as we see this through.

    Hang in there!

Can you provide a ballpark for when you think a fix will be ready? Days, weeks, months? I need to determine how much of my own time to invest in setting up workarounds.
    Thanks,
    Ines

    Good evening Ines,

Thank you for following up and for your understanding.

Good news, a fix is undergoing QA as we are speaking.
This means that it is likely a matter of weeks at this stage if all goes well.

As you can imagine, we are truly eager to release this patch.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Hi,

Just wanted to share with you that maintenance release 4.4.6 of our plugins is out, including a fix for this issue ?

There are still some issues when using the ‘Once’ option for multiple events in the same day due to a different bug. For overlapping events generated by weekly / monthly / yearly patters the provided solution in this release should work!

Find out more about the release → https://theeventscalendar.com/maintenance-release-events-calendar-pro-4-4-6-event-tickets-4-4-6-premium-add-ons/

Please update the plugins and let us know if the fix works for your site,
    Best,
    Nico

I updated the events calendar pro plugin to the 4.4.6 version and I still have an issue with the event that recurs on the same day (set up via weekly recurrence, which you mentioned should be fixed). If you look at my site you’ll see that the first instance of the event on any given day is fine but that the ones after that all go to a page that says “page not found” http://www.mommysboard.com/event/new-charlies-corner-story-time/2017-04-27/2/

To see the issue take a look at “Charlie’s Corner Story Time” on this date: http://www.mommysboard.com/events/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=list&tribe-bar-date=2017-04-30

Do I need to do something other than installing the plugin to get your fix to work? I did try going into the admin page for that even and just hitting “update” without making any changes to the event to see if that did anything and it didn’t.

The other events I have issues with are created using the “Once” recurrence setup – when will that bug be fixed?

    Good evening Ines,

I am sorry to hear about the fact that the update did not fix the issue for you.

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

Secondly, could you send me your latest complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Finally, could I get a screenshot of the event series rules for that specific example.

With all of that in hand, I should be able to find the cause of the issue.

    Hang in there!

I was about to gather all the info you requested and saw that sometime over the last couple of days the issue fixed itself, including events that are using the “once” function to create two recurrences on the same day. I don’t know what could have changed between when I updated with the new release and today – maybe it needed time? I had cleared caches and things like that.

The only thing that’s still odd is that an event that has a recurrence on the same day using the “once” function works on the site but in the admin portal it says “invalid date” (see screenshot attached).

    Good afternoon Ines,

I am mostly glad that the issue went away.

To your point, the recurring events generation work on CRON jobs. Normally, hitting “Update” should have regenerated the events, but that can vary from one webhost to the next.

As to the second glitch, this is caused by the date format (if you notice it is different than your other dates).

For now, alas, the only way around this is to either try to correct this manually (as opposed to using the date picker results) or change all of the date formats to 2017-01-26.

As before, we will let you know as soon as the fix is out.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
