Unfortunately, creating a new event only worked that once…

    http://tgm.duellingpixels.com/events/

Post: “New Recurring Event” is the post we created right after updating the plugin. It does not have the /all/ bug.

Post: “NEW CALENDAR TEST – RECURRENCE WITH EXCLUSION /ALL/ BUG” is a new post created today. It is bugged.

Post: “NEW CALENDAR TEST – RECURRENCE NO EXCLUSION /ALL/ BUG” is a new post created today. It is also bugged.

I noticed a difference between the post that is functioning and the two that are bugged: the one that is working has its date range set to cover all recurrences. I tried setting one of the new calendar tests date ranges to cover all recurrences and this did not change the bug.

Thank you for your continued assistance!

    Hey Rey,

Thanks for following up and sorry for the delay in my reply (as you stated we do not monitor the forums on weekends)…

Is there some other kind of re-save to try?

We could re-save via code, but I don’t see this would help solving the issue. Also you later stated this is not working correctly anyway.

We have an event that will occur weekly on Thursdays for 6 weeks, except for on the 5th week it will occur on Wednesday.

Can you send me a screenshot of the recurrence setting for this event?

Also for these events. I will try to re-create the bug you are experiencing.

So sorry this is taking so much back-and-forth to be resolved!

    Best,
    Nico

For the event that occurs for 6 weeks on Thursdays, except for week 5 which occurs on a Wednesday — do you have a recommendation for the recurrence settings? I’ll re-make the event where we tried to set two recurrence rules and a series of exclusions, but I wasn’t really expecting this to work lol. Couldn’t test if the rule rigging “worked” since the post had the /all/ bug.

Screencap Recurrence Settings for Six Week Series with Week Five Offset
Here’s a screencap of our attempt to recur an evening class for six weeks on Thursday, with week five occurring on Wednesday instead of Thursday. Resulting post has /all/ bug.

    Hey Rey,

Thanks so much for following up with the screencaps. With them I was able to reproduce and narrow down a bit the bug that’s affecting your site!

    Please the following:

    – Go to WP-Admin > Events > Settings > Timezone Settings > Timezone Mode, set that option to Use the local timezone for each event. This fixed the issue for me locally without having to re-save the events.

If events with exclusion fail to generate the recurrence series correctly (basically if exclusions don’t work), try using ‘Los Angeles’ time zone or the appropriate ‘city named timezone’ as there is an existing bug (the fix seems to be ready and most probably will be included in 4.1 coming out shortly).

If this doesn’t work I’m inclined to think this could be related with the date picker format the site is using (mm/dd/yyyy). So if the above fails, then try the following:

    – Go to WP-Admin > Events > Settings > Display > Date Format Settings > Date Picker format and choose the first option (yyyy-mm-dd).
    – With this new setting saved try to reproduce ‘Case #2 – Screencap Recurrence Settings for Post with /all/ Bug includes Exclusion Rule’.

Please let me know about it, truly hope changing the timezone settings help!
    Best,
    Nico

    Hi Nico!

Good news. The suggestion to change Timezone Mode to use local timezone for each event fixed the issue without having re-save or re-create events.

Events with exclusions did not have the /all/ bug, but the exclusion rule failed. Changing to ‘Los Angeles’ time zone did fix the exclusion rule failure. Changing the site from UTC -8 to Los Angeles so that the default timezone for each event would be “Los Angeles” seems to be working as well.

The rules we set trying to create an event that would display for 6 weeks, with week five occurring on a different day did not give the desired result, but it didn’t have the /all/ issue — so that probably warrants a new support ticket.

Thank you so much for your assistance!

    Super stocked to hear Ren!

Sorry you stumbled upon this bugs, hopefully the fixes are on they way (the two bugs are logged). Thanks so much for being patience and cooperative during the process, I truly appreciate it!

Yeap, probably creating a new support thread for that issue will be the best!

I’ll go ahead and close out this thread, be sure to check next releases notes for this bugs fixes!

    Best,
    Nico
