Hello. When I set up a recurring ALL-DAY event in Google Calendar, then import it via the iCal Importer, all recurring events are created correctly, but then they are also duplicated on each of the following days. How do I prevent this from happening?

I did not see this particular issue (with recurring ALL-DAY events imported via iCal importer) addressed when I searched these forums.

Good afternoon John and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the all-day events  being duplicated on each of the following days.
I would love to help you with this topic.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Secondly, could you:

    1. Provide me with the ics URL you are importing from ?
    2. Provide me with a screenshot of your recurring import’s settings ?
    3. Tell me what your settings are under Events -> Settings -> General for Timezone Settings ?

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening John,

Thank you for all of the info. It allowed me to reproduce the issue.

It seems like the cause is literally within the Google Calendar entry.
Check out the following abbreviated version of an all-day event:

    BEGIN:VEVENT
    DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20160816
    DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20160817
    RRULE:FREQ=WEEKLY;UNTIL=20170606;BYDAY=TU
    SUMMARY:Early Dismissal (1:36pm)
    END:VEVENT

Here’s another abbreviated version but of a non all-day event

    BEGIN:VEVENT
    DTSTART:20160810T160000Z
    DTEND:20160810T170000Z
    SUMMARY:Kindergarten Orientation
    END:VEVENT

The main difference between the 2 is the lack of start and end time in the all-day event.
Adding a start and end time on all-day events seems to solve things on my end.

Would you mind giving this a try on your end ?

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
