    Hi,

I am interested in purchising the pro version of this plugin but have some pre sales questions before I do so:

    1) Our website lists ongoing events and these are always displayed on top of the events page: https://www.mcrgreater.co.uk/event. Is there a way these ongoing events can be listed elsewhere (i.e on another page) or have their own section on the existing events page? If not, will the pro version of the plugin have any alternatives for this?

    2) Most of our events are ongoing and last a few months. These events make the website look out-dated – as an event on the 12/07/17 has the same date a few weeks later. We have to manually change the start date for it to look new. Is there a way for the date to automatically be updated (to today’s date) for these ongoing events?

    3) What is the Maximum limit of events we can list on the free and pro version of the plugin? Are there any limitations?

    4) Does the pro version offer seperate calanders? We would like one for ongoing events, one for one time/one off events – does this work on different pages too?

    5) Do we get premium support with the plugin. If we do, how long does it last and what do you provide support in?

    6) Will the upgrade of the Events Calendar Pro affect the layout of my site. I am using the free version of this plugin with the eventica wordpess theme.

    6) Refunds – do you offer them if we’re not happy? How long does the refund policy last for?

    7) Price – Is the $89 a one off payment or is this an annual fee? Is there a vat charge?

    Many Thanks,
    Ihtezaz

    Hi Ihtezaz,

Thanks so much for your interest in our plugins! I’d be more than glad to take the time to answer these questions for you! 🙂

    1. Great question! If you’re looking to display certain events in a distinct section to highlight or separate them from the rest, you might consider designating those events as featured events, as detailed in this Knowledgebase article. This will apply a unique attribute to these events so that they are more emphasized on your calendar pages. Or, if you’d prefer a separate location for these events, Events Calendar PRO‘s Event List Widget allows you to display selected events (filtered by category, tag, or other criteria) in a sidebar widget. You can read more about configuring this widget on our Knowledgebase here.
    2. Unfortunately, there’s no built-in way to do this with either The Events Calendar or Events Calendar PRO. However, you may be able to achieve it with a bit of customization! The tribe_events_event_schedule_details_inner filter hook might be a great place to start if you’re looking to change the dates that are output for your long-term events. We’re unfortunately not able to assist with complex customizations such as these, but our Themer’s Guide should prove helpful, and this forum thread provides a bit more detail on using this hook for a similar customization!
    3. There are no limitations on other plugin, though it’s worth considering the limitations of your hosting plan and/or server if you’re planning on creating an extremely large number of events! Otherwise, go nuts! 😉
    4. You can use the category functionality that’s built into our calendar plugins to link to full calendars for specific categories–and with the [tribe_events] shortcode for Events Calendar PRO, you can even embed them in other posts or pages. Simply assign your events to their own categories, then link or embed as needed! Here’s an example of a category calendar from our WP Shindig demo site! You can learn more about the [tribe_events] shortcode here on our Knowledgebase, as well.
    5. You most certainly do! Our premium support is provided right here on the forums and is available for one year after your original date of purchase (though you can renew to extend your support as long as you’d like). This Knowledgebase article goes into a bit more depth regarding the level of support that is provided to our license holders.
    6. Events Calendar PRO is built upon the same core code as The Events Calendar, and their default displays are the same–if you’re happy with your calendar view on the free version, you won’t see any major changes when moving to PRO unless you make those settings changes yourself.
    7. We do offer a full 30-day refund policy if you should decide that Events Calendar PRO isn’t right for you. (That said, we hope that you won’t need it!)
    8. A Personal license for Events Calendar PRO is $89 for the first year and covers one full year of updates, feature additions, and premium support. Should you choose to renew after your first year, you’ll be eligible for our renewal discount on your order. Our company is based in the US, and VAT is not charged for international purchases. 🙂

I hope that helps to get you started here! Thanks again, and please don’t hesitate to follow up if you should have any other questions!

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply!

I have just recently bought the events calendar pro and the filter bar add-on for my website. After the purchase, I saw the following link: https://theeventscalendar.com/bundles/bundle-importer/ and have a few questions regarding this:

    1) If we’ve already bought 2 products (Events Calendar Pro & Filter Bar), can we then switch to a bundle of 3 products instead (https://theeventscalendar.com/bundles/bundle-importer/) and pay the difference?

    2) Would this cause any issues i.e how would we not lose our data/code/edits we’ve made? Will we have to do everything all over again if we switchover? How does this work – is there a way to duplicate changes over/do this seamlessly? Is there a guide?

    3) Can we get a refund/discounted price on the plugins we’ve already bought – if we switch over to the package – i.e can we be refunded for both plugins, then pay for the bundle of all 3 plugins instead? Or would we have to wait for the plugins to expire and not renew the costs, then take out a bundle?

If so, we probably wouldn’t bother – unless we can easily switch everything over to the new package without having to redo it all. Hypothetically, what if a new dev is working on the site by then – it causes them issues and is maybe not worth it/disruptive to the website?

If we can change over, how long does it take for all this to work – where do we start?

    Many Thanks,
    Ihtezaz

    Hi Ihtezaz,

    1. While we’re not able to bill for the difference between one or more single plugins and a pre-assembled product bundle, we can certainly process a refund for your existing licenses so that you can pick the Importer Bundle whenever you’re ready. Simply fill out our refund request form, and we’ll take care of the rest: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/refund-policy/
    2. Your events and plugin settings are all stored safely in your WordPress database, and they won’t be affected by updating, upgrading, deactivating, uninstalling, or changing license keys for your existing plugins. No need to worry about losing any data or needing to reconfigure any settings!
    3. Absolutely–just fill out the form linked above, and we’ll make sure that your refund is processed as soon as possible! Once that’s done, you can simply place your order for an Importer Bundle and activate your new license keys in place of the old ones on your WordPress site.

I hope that helps! Thanks again, and let me know if you should have any other questions! 🙂

    Hi,

I have just a few more questions regarding the filter plugin for the calendar:

    1) I have added a new field called twitter and used url for the field type. Currently, when I add a url to a twitter field, the url text is displayed on the events page. Is there a way for me to change the url text to e.g the twitter handle for the client, but still have it link through to their page?

    2) For the cost field on the plugin, the highest cost shows up as £4000. Is there a way to change this as the highest cost for an event I have listed is around ££500 – any filter above this price is pointless on the site.

    Many Thanks
    Ihtezaz

    Hi,

Following up on the previous email. I have a few more questions/issues:

    3) Ongoing/recurring events – deleting issue and clogging website

We seem to be able to customize and add ongoing/recurring events in a quite specific manner – which is great. However, we can’t seem to do the opposite – change the settings to automatically delete events using a specific range of options. We can only delete all events i.e older than 6 months, but can’t customize this for individual events.

For example, some of our events occur yearly only – we would like to leave the backlog of these events on our website for at least 1-2 years. For events that occur every day, they will need to be deleted every week or even month – as there will be a lot of them clogging the backend of the website.

Is there a way to customize the deleting of events range?

    4) Related events – how do these work? We want to edit them i.e all coding courses should have coding related events only, but seem to feature any. We want them to relate more to the event the person is looking at i.e you wouldn’t put NERF or Star Wars next to Barbie or My Little Pony! Same with events; if I’m looking to go to an 18+ only game jam, I doubt I would wanna go to a tea party for under 5’s.

    Many Thanks,
    Ihtezaz

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics.
