We are designing a professional specific Industry related worldwide events portal. Last month we bought a Pro version of Event Manager Plugin. We got discouraged because we were not able to get technical support for an important issue. We contacted our AVADA Theme Provider and they recommended us to consider your Events Calendar plugin. Here is a summary of our intended design.
It will be a worldwide portal where organizers will be able to post and manage their events.
There will be categories of event s for example Tradeshows, conferences, educational, products announcements etc.
Participants should be able to find the events based on categories and countries/cities.
Participants should be able to register, pay if necessary through our site.
If possible a separate calendar for each category / location for example pharma event in USA.

We tested your free version. We will need the Pro Version. We discovered that upgrading to the Pro Version is not a onetime purchase and that we will have to renew once a year. We will also have to pay for every additional add-on. For example in addition to paying $89 per year for the Pro Version we will be paying an additional $89.00 per year for the Community Events add-on and eventually possibly more for additional add-ons.

Is this indeed the case? We are planning multiple sites and would like to know if there can be a better deal for us.

Oneimmediate concern is that we are having trouble figuring out how to have pages with events filtered by category. We would like to have separate pages for each category for example on the site we are working on now we would like to have a page with just events under the category “Weddings” formatted in the same way as the “All Events” page is. How can we do this?

    Hi,

Thanks for the interest in our plugins.

I can help answer your questions.

It will be a worldwide portal where organizers will be able to post and manage their events.

With Community Events you can setup an account in WordPress for each organizer and they can create, edit, and publish events from the front end.

There will be categories of event s for example Tradeshows, conferences, educational, products announcements etc.
Participants should be able to find the events based on categories and countries/cities.

This is possible with the filter bar.

Participants should be able to register, pay if necessary through our site.

We do not have a registration system at this time.

If possible a separate calendar for each category / location for example pharma event in USA.

Yes each category has its own main views (month, list, etc) the url is like this: youtsite.com/events/category/pharma/

Is this indeed the case? We are planning multiple sites and would like to know if there can be a better deal for us.

Yes all our licenses are for one year of support and updates there are no exceptions to that.

We offer discounts from time to time through our newsletter beyond that we do not have any deals for bundles.

There are the Business and Developer Licenses to use the plugins on more then one site.

Oneimmediate concern is that we are having trouble figuring out how to have pages with events filtered by category. We would like to have separate pages for each category for example on the site we are working on now we would like to have a page with just events under the category “Weddings” formatted in the same way as the “All Events” page is. How can we do this?

Same as above the category view would be: youtsite.com/events/category/weddings/

Also you can see a demo of all our features here:

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Thanks

Thanks for your kind response. I am confused about your following response:

Me: Participants should be able to register, pay if necessary through our site.
You: We do not have a registration system at this time.

I always thought that the registration of participants/attendees was the main strength. Don’t they have a system in Woocommerce plugin where people buy tickets and the systems keeps track of the tickets sold ? The organizers must be able to track the number of people that are coming to the events even if the event is free. The event Manager package that we bought previously probably had that feature (may be I am wrong since I did not go far with that). I just want to make sure that I am understood right.

The tickets have registration system qualities like you describe with the attendees list.

However, it is closer to a movie ticketing system then a registration system.

As the ticketing plugins work, if someone would purchase 3 tickets they are all under their name in the attendees list. Also, there is no way to get more information and include it in the attendees list.

So if you are looking just to track tickets and total numbers the system works great if you need to go beyond that it is not quite there yet.

We are looking to do a beta soon on more advanced registration features if you are interested please email us at [email protected]

    Thanks

    Dear Brian:

I was encouraged to hear that you are working on advanced BETA version that would include Attendees registration and allow organizers to track the number of attendee coming to the event. Just to let you know I have purchased three licenses for calendar Pro and Community Plug in. I would like to learn about the latest improvements and hope Registration of participants gets added soon. Will I be able to update to DEV package if I decide to use Events Calendar for more than three sites?

I am encouraged to. I am also looking forward to Ticket Beta.

As for license upgrades you can do that anytime from your account, follow this guide for help:

    Hi,
I have read over this plugin and all seems to be what I want except the missing barcode functionality.
In another thread, it mentions that this is included in a beta build of the next version. Just wondering how close is that to completion?

I do not want to buy the woocommerce barcode plugin if this is something thats going to be available.

    thanks

We hope to have a beta by the end of the month. That is as close of a timeline I can give.

    Hello,

I am designing a website for a non profit organisation ( Meditation Centre ). I bought a template which has free version of events calender plugin in it but the features are limited. I have few queries:

    1) Do you have any paid plugin in which reoccuring events are automatically comes on calender instead of adding it separately?
    2) Can a person pay from the events ( integrated with paypal )
    3) Can a person register for the event ( if it a free )something like RSVP?
    4) Is there a email system in which registered people come to know about other events coming up?

Instead of separate plugins, I am looking for it in one plugin. How much will it cost ( one time or yearly )?

    Thanks

    Best Regards,
    Shivani

Hi, I am currently using woocommerce to sell tickets, due to its limited capability I need something tailored to ticket sales. Wootickets seems just the ticket (excuse the pun). Do I need events calendar or ECP to use wootickets or am I right thinking that woocommerce is all I need to benefit from its extended functionality?

    Regards

    Leslie

    Hello Shivani,

I can help answer your questions.

The Events Calendar Pro includes Recurring Events in it. You can create the recurring event series directly from an event.

We have this guide on how recurring events work:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-recurring-events/

We have our ticketing plugins for people to pay for events and they all accept what the eCommerce can take for payment, which includes Paypal.

    https://theeventscalendar.com/tickets/

The ticketing plugins can be used as a registration, but the information is limited to the person purchasing and there are not additional fields to collect information.

We do not have a notification system to let people know about events.

We do not have a plugin that combines all the features into one, they are all separate and each license is for one year of support and updates.

    Hi Leslie,

You do need The Events Calendar (free version) to use WooCommerce Tickets (WooTickets) as tickets are created in the events and cannot be created in the product editor.

Also, I am going to close this thread as we got off topic from the original post, but if you have any follow up questions please create your own topic in the forum where we interact with you one on one.

    Thanks
