I am interested in “event tickets plus” and “pro clalendary event” but I need to know more about “QR check-in can be configured to work with multiple user roles so staff can Easily manage volunteers or attendees” for my project.

    Thank you for your answer.

    Hi Sergio.

Thanks for your interest in our Event Tickets Plus add-on plugin that upgrades the functionality of our free Event Tickets plugin.

Event Tickets Plus enables you to sell tickets via one of our supported eCommerce platforms. The free plugin only enables free RSVP-type tickets.

You can view our roundup/comparison of all the eCommerce plugins ET+ supports.

Our plugin uses your eCommerce plugin of choice, but your eCommerce plugin isn’t displayed for shopping pages. Please reference our Making Tickets KB article (screenshots are from an install using WooCommerce) for an idea how to create tickets for an event.

Site visitors would purchase tickets from each event’s single page/view (e.g. example.com/events/rogers-day-at-the-zoo/) — if there is an RSVP to submit or ticket to purchase.

The order confirmation email will include a QR code that can be scanned to “check in” someone at the door at the time of the event. You can read more at Tickets: Managing your orders and attendees.

Last but not least, we have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.

I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Can you shed a bit more light on the checkin process? I get that the ticket has a QR code on it and can scan in tickets but how does that interface with the site? Do you need to use a QR scanner or does the Events Tickets Pro have an app? When you scan in a ticket does it mark that attendee in at the sites dashboard? I am currently using a different ticketing plugin that has an app but it seems to error out after about 6 app events (viewing tickets, checking in, etc) and then I can’t do anything with it. I want the scanning checkin function but I have no idea how your plugin actually does this from a user perspective. All support just seems to point to this “If you have Event Tickets Plus installed and activated on your site, tickets will have a QR Code on them. You can use these codes for in-person check-ins at your event; whether the ticket is being shown on a smartphone screen, or is printed out on paper, once scanned with any QR code reader it will check-in that attendee.” But it doesn’t say how one scans the ticket (a Events Ticket app or just some random scanner) or how it interacts with the site. As I feel burned by the other plugin I want to make sure this will work for my site. Thank you

    Sure.

We do not have a dedicated/branded app. Any QR code reader will do (including a desktop/laptop based one like https://webqr.com/); it just takes you to the proper URL to check-in this specific ticket. The attendee must of course bring this with them (printed or scan its display on your phone).

It just takes you to the proper URL — which you could visit on the phone or a desktop or any other device where someone is logged in to the wp-admin screen where you could manually “click” to check someone in as well (e.g. forgot to print out QR code but shows their photo ID).

Again, feel free to try it out (it won’t error out after 6 or whatever scans) with the safety of our refund policy.

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

So at the url is it still a manual check in or does the scan go to the url and mark the ticket attendee as checked in? Either way is fine by me. I just need to let my client (site owner) know what would happen.

Most phone QR code readers will either display the URL (so you know where it’d go before you go there) or will automatically go there.

Visiting that link will check them in.

If someone is already checked in and the link is visited (e.g. QR scanned multiple times), it should just act like nothing really happened (just showing they’re checked in).

    I hope this helps.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
