I just bought the pro version, all is fine but get a strange bug, I have created an event, saved it as draft, and want to check it before post…. if i click the link view preview keep giving me 404 error no page.

If i post the event no problem at all.

    why?

    Hey @Corrado,

Sorry to hear about these issues! I cannot reproduce them, and both Draft events and “Preview” events work fine for me.

    I’m curious:

    1. What version of The Events Calendar is active on your site?
    2. What version of Events Calendar Pro is active on your site?
    3. What version of WordPress are you currently running?

Next, does anything change if you go to Settings > Permalinks in your admin area, and just click “Save Changes” without actually making any changes? This may seem like an odd thing to do but is a little “trick” within WordPress to get the permalinks across your site to refresh, which might help here.

    Cheers,
    George

    Hey @corrado,

Just to be clear, what you wrote here seems to indicate that this issue is not related to The Events Calendar, but to your .htaccess file or something else on your site:

    A) My first problem is the preview and the draft event but now i guess is an issue with htaccess file because it is doing the same thing with normal wp article
    can you check?

We unfortunately cannot help with anything that is not related to The Events Calendar or our own add-ons for it.

As for your second question, you provided links to admin pages on your site and we unfortunately cannot log into user admin pages for any reason.

Thanks for your patience with this issue so far. Let me know what you think about the information above.

    Hey @Corrado,

I’m glad part of your issues here are resolved, and I also appreciate the login information that you shared, but I removed it as soon as I saw it for security reasons – we cannot log into customer sites under any circumstance, but your willingness to work with us to resolve this is much appreciated!

As for your issues with sorting, I get some weird behavior here:

I tested sorting by title, and it did NOT work, as you reported. So there is likely a bug here – I will alert our development team immediately.

However, when I sorted by Venue, that DID work fine for me – is sorting by the venue what you mean when you say “filter event by location”?

Thanks for your patience with this, and while I’m very sorry about the title-sorting bug and any frustration this has caused you, we really appreciate you putting that bug on our radar now and we will get fixed as soon as possible!

    Thanks,
    George

    Hey Corrado,

All of the links you provided are wp-admin links on your site, which means logging in is required – we unfortunately cannot log into these pages, but I know what URLs you are referring to now.

Specifically, for example, yes, the sorting by venue on the event list page is what I meant originally, and what works for me (your last 2 links, in other words).

That sorting works well for me and I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be working for you – the first issue, sorting by title, indeed fails for me, but sorting by venue works fine. If you are very interested in continuing to debug here, would you be willing to do the troubleshooting steps outlined here? → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

If you check on the sort-by-venue issue after each step, that will confirm or rule out the existence of a bug here.

Cheers, and thank you for your patience with this issue so far!

    Hi there,

I wanted to report back to you on the status of this issue. Your report is tracked in our internal system and a fix is on our to-do list, but we were not able to fit it into our upcoming 3.12 release. Please know that the issue is still very much on our radar and we will be working on it for a future release. We appreciate your patience while we work to improve our plugins. Thank you for using The Events Calendar!

    Good news everyone!

We’ve just release a maintenance release that addresses this issue. Please look for updates to your Events plugin(s) on your site. Thank you for your patience while we worked to address the reported issues. And don’t forget to review the release notes for all the details on version 4.0.3.

While our testing shows that the new release fixes the problem reported here, sites are different and it’s possible that there are edge cases. If you are still seeing the issue after you update your plugins, please post a new thread so we can look into it further.

    Thank you for your support!

    Best,
    Leah
