Hi there! I was just reading this:

Need to add additional fields to event creation

We’re currently evaluation other WP systems to manage our events because Pro is coming up short. Plus, it forces us to integrate with other systems, like EventBrite. So we’re bouncing from one system to the next, to the next.

One feature that would bode well for staying on Pro would be the ability to create a library of presenters. We have the same staff that present over and over again. But the only way I can put their bios in my events right now is to open a Word doc where I have their bios saved, and then copy/paste it in. So again – ANOTHER step outside of your system in order to get things done. We have to bounce out of Pro so often to build our events, it’s time consuming.

One of the systems we’re evaluating has a speaker library. It’s similar to your Venue library, but it’s for speakers. I can categorize my people, add their names, job titles, bios, etc. And then when I create an event, there’s a widget that lists my presenters and I just pick the one I want. And they are added in with bio, photo, etc.

Do you guys have any plans to do this? If not, are there any plugins out there that play nice with Pro that could do it? Thanks!

Hey @Jennifer,

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve found our plugin limiting, and am especially sorry to then also bear the bad news on top of that which is that no, we do not have any built-in way to do this at this time and no plans to do so (in the immediate future, at least).

You could indeed custom-code this or hire someone to do so for you; otherwise it’s not a default plugin feature and is not planned on being one 🙁

Thanks for the honest reply! It is appreciated. Your plugin does a lot of things REALLY WELL, which is part of why our evaluation is taking so long. It’s just that it requires so many other tools to tie into it, that when we have to train someone new, it’s really hard for them to pick up. But I’ve got you installed on several client sites where it shall stay because of the nature of those events. But for some of more complex clients, we might have to move.
