GuestGot a number of questions.
1- The single event post pages…do they come with sidebars for the templates? &/or any slots for the insertion of ads?
2- I see the ticketed item that’s available…is there something in the way of allowing folks to pay for wanting to submit an event?
3- With #2 in mind, IS there a way for folks to submit an event for consideration through the front end?
4- I’ve got over 4,000 past events through another plugin. I’d hate to lose them. Do you see a way of importing them into The Events Calendar and still retaining the permalinks structure (folder and url name and all)?
Thanks in advance. 😉

MemberHi there,
Thanks for reaching out! Happy to answer these questions for you! 🙂
- Great question! If your theme supports sidebar widgets, you can use the Default Page Template to leave your sidebars intact on all calendar and event views. You’ll find the setting for Events template in your plugin settings under Events > Settings > Display.
- While we don’t yet offer an option for paid event submissions within our plugins, this is something that we do have on the docket for a future plugin release! You can keep this with the progress of this feature by following the original feature request on our UserVoice forum.
- Users can easily submit events to be added to your calendar using the Community Events add-on! This plugin works great with either The Events Calendar or Events Calendar PRO and allows you to receive submissions from the public while still maintaining full editorial control. You can find more info on this plugin on the product page linked above!
- If you’re able to export your existing events to CSV or another format (such as ICS/iCal), you should be able to import them straight into The Events Calendar without any added fuss. However, your permalink structure may change somewhat depending on how your original events were set up. If needed, you can change the URL slugs used for your events in your plugin settings–if this isn’t sufficient, you may wish to consider a third-party redirection plugin for redirecting your old event URL structure to the new one.
I hope that helps to get you started here! Thanks again, and let me know if you should have any other questions!

GuestHi and thanks for the reply Caroline.
1- Sounds Great
2- The way that other person phrased the question is even better. A membership option featuring a flat fee would be awesome as well!
3- Excellent!
4- Thanks.
