Hello,

I want to realize a project, where events are shown on a map. Just like in this example found in your showcase:

Is this possible with out of the box solutions you provide, like a plugin plus addons or so?

Also, can I customize the map style, add custom taxonomies/filter options, and add custom map markers?

Hey Hannes,

You bet! That example uses Events Calendar PRO which includes a Map View like that right out of the box where there is a large map at the top of the screen and a list of events beneath it. As long as you already have our free The Events Calendar plugin installed, then Events Calendar PRO will add that view for you with no other installation needed. 🙂

Customizing the map style and markers is definitely more involved. The plugin uses Google Maps to create the map, so any customizations you make to it would have to be done there and will likely require custom development.

Thanks for your answer. Do you know of any examples where custom map styles and markers have been used? I really need those features and if theres some workaround I’d like to buy your plugin and addon.

As a non coder I dont know how time consuming it is to provide a solution. Google has the following articles about it, no clue if this is easy to combine with your plugin:

You know, I actually have not come across any examples where the map has been customized. However, looking at the links you provided, it appears that changing the map markers requires a small bit of Javascript to be added to the page. While I haven’t done this personally, we do have a list of folks that we would recommend for help with that.
