Pre-pending Text When Auto Publishing to Facebook

Several weeks back user Colin (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/users/ccarmichael/) opened a topic regarding importing events to Facebook.

It was closed before there’d been a response from Colin about the code and from Modern Tribe about including this as functionality either now or in the future.

The ability to automatically import the events from my calendar into my own FB page would be a huge benefit, i’m sure many other users would agree.

How do we go about getting the current code and editing it to include pre-prending the original event organisers name?

Hi, Neil.

I searched a bit and couldn’t find the code Colin referred to.

I’d guess there’s some sort of sharing functionality — such as using Jetpack’s Publicize or Sharing — that could be customized to say “if publicizing an Event post, prepend its title with this”

Please describe the method you’re using to publish events to Facebook, and I might be able to help just a bit more with this customization request.

I noticed you put this question in the Event Aggregator forum. Please clarify if instead you’re asking to customize titles within WordPress — customizing how Event Aggregator imports events from Facebook.

If not, then I’ll move this thread to the Events Calendar PRO forum instead (it won’t affect the URL or your access to it; it’s just for our organizational purposes).
