ParticipantSo the month view on mobile doesn’t work well for me but I want to use it on the other views. I would like to put the month view on a page as well as a list of all of that month’s events beneath it. I’m using Avada theme. I would put them each in separate rows and set the month row to be invisible on mobile thus only showing the list view. Is this possible?

MemberHi. Thanks for your question.
I’m not sure I perfectly understand your question, but here is an idea:
You could use this The Events Calendar Widget Areas plugin, and then you could use one of our plugin’s widgets there, such as the Mini Calendar widget.
As far as visibility on mobile, that would be something we wouldn’t be able to help with, since each theme and combination of plugins could be different. It shouldn’t be difficult to pull off though.
Please let me know if this works well for you.
Thanks.

ParticipantThe Mini Calendar widget is too small. Here’s the actual page:
I want exactly that with the ability to add a list of events below the calendar on that page. The template allows me to hide or show according to resolution.
So what I need is to have a page with both a calendar, like the one in the above link, and an event list for the current month. Preferably different from the one I currently have on the home page.

MemberThanks for that link. Pretty calendar 🙂
I tried this The Events Calendar Widget Areas plugin and added tried [tribe_events view=”list”] below my own site’s example.com/events page and it just didn’t render anything at all. This is because of the current limitation that only 1 full calendar can be output on a page.
Therefore, the best I can come up with for what you’re wanting is using the Events List widget in that widget areas plugin.
However, if someone clicks Month View’s “next” or “previous” month, the Events List below won’t be in sync. It only displays the upcoming events regardless of what URL it’s at.
For those reasons, I think the recommended course of action here is resolving issues with your site’s Month View not rendering for mobile how you’re wanting. Could you please describe those issues if you’d like to take this path instead?
Thanks.

ParticipantThe monthly view on mobile just won’t work. I would need the calendar to show the titles of all of the events in month view. I’m not sure that would look good or even be a viable option for obvious visual reasons. So, what I want to do is switch to a list view when someone is on mobile.
Similar to the way these folks do it: http://moonshineflats.com/calendar/

MemberOur demo site displays today’s events in a list view: http://wpshindig.com/events/
Then the user can click a different date (indicated with a dot on the day if there are any events) to list that day’s events.
Is this not acceptable for your needs? If not, could you elaborate?
As stated in my previous reply, our plugin just isn’t currently able to display more than 1 “full view” on a single page. Here are some possible alternatives to consider:
- customize your Month View mobile view (likely a heavy customization via our Themer’s Guide)
- add a check, like wp_is_mobile(), and redirect to /events/list if on mobile (would require a page load so it’s not ideal)
- use a widget or shortcode for list view and hide one or the other depending on browser width (your idea from before)
I’m looking forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks.
