Hi,
I have an installation of Events Calendar Pro, that is displayed to a group of logged in users, and the menu that is displayed is dependant on the page parent.
I can get the monthly calendar view working fine by using a shortcode to display the calendar on the child page, but how can I modify the single event page so that it appears under the same parent?
For example, my monthly view is on http://domain.com/staff/calendar and I would like the single event view to be something like http://domain.com/staff/single-event-view or http://domain.com/staff/calendar/single-event-view
In the settings if I set the Single event URL slug to “staff” it breaks the site – obviously there is a conflict between the existing parent slug and the single event slug.
Anyone have any ideas how I could get this to work this way?
Thanks

Thanks for reaching out to us! Let me try to help you with this topic.
Setting the Single event URL slug to “staff” does indeed create a conflict with this page > http://domain.com/staff/calendar because it will be reserved to a single event with a slug of “calendar” even if it’s not created.
Unfortunately, there is no built-in way to work out this limitation. You could probably build a workaround for this with some custom coding, but we are fairly limited in how much support we can give for custom development questions like this one.
If you decide to go ahead and try to build some custom code for it and bump into a problem, feel free to reach us out and we’ll try to help as much possible.
As a reference, you should always try to stick to our permalinks best practices > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/permalinks-best-practices/
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
