Overriding tickets.php in own theme disables attendee meta fields

I would like to customize the ticket display (specifically replacing the number of available tickets with a static text) so I have placed an exact copy of event-tickets-plus/src/views/wootickets/tickets.php in tribe-events/wootickets/tickets.php in my child theme. However, this disables the display of the additional meta fields.
How do I customize the template without disabling the meta fields?
