    Hi,

    Since last februry, we have sufffering a lot of perfomance problems in laguiago.com

    Our server told us there is a huge number of mysql request from Event Calendar Plugin. That resource consumption makes down our web. It is impossible to edit a post or venue.

    We need to know where is the problem. We are desesperated: we can’t work in our web and our visitors —despite cache— are suffering the inconvenient too.

    Please, give us a solution urgently.

    I am really sorry you are experiencing performance issues. I know for myself they can be really hard to tackle.

    When did the performance problem start? Was it after a plugin update? or a WordPress update? Could it be related to an increase in traffic to your site?

    Could you please share with us your system info by following this guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    We have a great article that will get you started on Performance Considerations you should know about. I know you have implemented a caching system, but I suggest you also check these articles on Caching: What, when and how and Caching month view HTML in transients.

    Finally, there is a good article George put up here that groups a set of developer plugins. It’s a bit more technical than the others but will definitely be of help if you are into development.

    We are in troubles since we installed the Event Calendar in our web. But now it is terrorific. It an odessy to edit any post. Anyway, all get worsts sinde your last update.

    I don’t seem to be getting all the system information from your site. Could you please copy and paste that information in a reply and make it private?

    Is it too slow to load when editing an event or is it in every wp-admin page? In which pages are you experiencing the slowest performance?

    I’ve had a look at your site and it seems that it has a lot of events and posts. Could you tell me how many posts and events are there?

    Also, could you tell me more about your hosting server? Is it a shared server?

    Please let me know about this and any other observation you may find relevant to the issue.

    Hi Victor,

    Problems begins when we try to add a new venue. It is impossible. After a few minute we get to post the venue and we mark publish: 503 again.

    We have 3188 posts and 18.385 venues.

    We are alone now in the server. We can’t climb services. Next step is being fired of server.

    We are desolated.

In order to do that, we will need you to provide us all the information we ask. Please copy and paste all your system information (in a private reply if you’d like) so we can be aware of your site’s settings and specifications.

    The number of venues you currently have is very big, so this could be one thing to consider. Could you delete the venues that are not used anymore? Bear in mind that the WordPress admin doesn’t allow you to delete more than 999 at once, and I would suggest you do not attempt to delete more than 300 at once.

    What type of server is your site on? is it a shared server, VPN? Could you give us the link to the hosting provider and the plan you are currently in?

    Do you have any customizations going on your site? like a custom snippet that performs a certain task like this one > https://gist.github.com/jesseeproductions/f8102153d93cb2fdd5cd3ed21e321086#file-tribe-filter-limits-org-ven-php

    Estamos solos, pero ya no nos aumentan más el plan de hsting. Webempresa nos ha dicho que tenemos que arreglar el problema con vuestro plugin que genera tantas querys.

    Ni idea. No sé a qué te refieres con esto. Es algun filto para generar menos querys?

    Hola Miguel,

    Un gusto hablar contigo en español. Voy a hacer todo lo que me es posible para ayudarte a solucionar tu problema. Ten en cuenta que en los problemas de performance puede resultar muy difícil determinar sus orígenes y en general llevan cierto tiempo en resolver ya que no hay una solución única para cada caso.

    La información que te estoy solicitando es la información del sistema que puedes encontrar yendo a Eventos > Ayuda y bajo el título Información del Sistema. Debes tener activada la opción para compartir tu información con nosotros. Acá puedes ver como debería ser > https://cloudup.com/cr5fywF4F5P. La otra opción es que nos copies y envíes manualmente toda la información allí presente en una respuesta privada por este medio.

    Entiendo que Webempresa es tu proveedor de hosting y que, si bien me parece que solo ofrecen servidores compartidos, en este momento tu sitio es el único alojado en el servidor. Podrías averiguar que recursos cuenta el servidor en este momento? cuanta memoria, cpu, etc? O sino si puedes enviarnos el link con el detalle de tu plan contratado en Webempresa.

    En cuanto a la customización, me refiero si tu tienes algún código, similar al que te envié de ejemplo, que hayas agregado en el archivo functions.php del tema activo. Si tu, o quien haya desarrollado el sitio, ha implementado una customización de algún tipo por favor hazlo saber.

    Como te decía anteriormente, 18385 es una cantidad de venues bastante elevada. ¿Es posible que puedas eliminar todas las venues que no utilices? Ten en cuenta que el admin de WordPress solo permite eliminar hasta 999 a la vez. De todas maneras, te recomiendo no eliminar más de 300 a la vez. Puedes empezar eliminando de a 20 venues, luego 30, 40, etc. y vayas viendo como responde el servidor al realizar esta acción.

    Espero tu respuesta para poder hacer una evaluación de tu caso con el equipo y poder encontrar una solución a tu problema.
