    Hi,

Looking at possible purchase of Event Tickets Plus for an event next year. (We’re used a different solution for this year’s event, which is on Saturday, but it’s insufficiently flexible for next year’s needs.)

We have several ticket types, primarily “adult” and “junior”. Junior tickets are free, but there is a rule that we only admit accompanied juniors so only allow purchase in conjunction with an adult ticket. How might one go about accommodating such a requirement (assuming Event Tickets Plus was used with WooCommerce)?

    Many thanks,

    Richard

    Hi there Richard,

Thanks for reaching out to us and thanks as well for your interest in our products ๐Ÿ™‚

We currently don’t have such a feature at the time, but this is something that can surely be custom coded. On the top off my head I guess the simplest way would be to perform a check of the ‘ticket amount dropdown’ via JavaScript. Maybe you can also take advantage of ‘attendees meta‘ feature, which let’s you add a form to collect information for each tickets. This way you can ask for an adult name per Junior ticket or add a checkbox to confirm there’s an adult with tickets to go with this Junior.

Please let me know if this answers your question,

Thanks Nico; various options, then. I guess one could look to hook in to validate the cart contents at the point the user starts the checkout process. After a bit of rummaging, it also looks like it’s more than a bit like the WooCommerce “Force Sells” plugin, which might do the trick.

    You are welcome Richard!

In fact many ways of doing this. I’m not familiarized with “Force Sells” plugin but have in mind that once the tickets are in the cart, the checkout process is managed by Woo like in any a regular product sale.

Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you,
    Best,
    Nico
