ParticipantThere is really a lot of good things in Events Calendar and Tickets. We have invested in “everything”
However, the recurring thing…
For us,
a course description is like the master – without date, location, ticket, organiser, etc
a class is then a one-off happening of a course, with date, location, ticket, organiser, etcThis is impossible to get even close with the current apps.
So, on the verge of being forced to find other solutions for our website:
In this anything being possible in the Event plugins “soon”? (So many other people/users are asking for REAL recurring options here)
If not, where would we find skilled solution architects/programmers, who could twist your apps for us?

KeymasterHi Finn,
Thanks for reaching out! I’m sorry to hear that the current recurring functionality isn’t meeting the needs of your site…the way recurring events currently work is that the recurring instances are essentially copies of the original event but with different dates/times. The other info (venues, tickets, organizers, etc.) will be the same for all instances in the series. Without doing some heavy code customizations, there is unfortunately not a way to change these details on individual dates in the series. Sorry for the bad news there!
You are correct that several other users have requested similar functionality, and this is something that we are working to build out for the future. This will involve major code changes on our end, so unfortunately I don’t have any ETA I can give you as to when this type of functionality will be released. In the meantime, an alternative to recurring events might be to use a plugin like Post Duplicator, which allows you to create copies of posts like events (although I do not believe that this will copy the tickets).
If you would like help diving into the code, we do have a list of recommended developers that you could contact. I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer that I can give you at the moment – I completely understand where you’re coming from, and we do hope to get this functionality released sometime in the future! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
