ParticipantHi,
As I want the calendar to show the month 10 (October 2017) directly, I found the “Fast forward Calendar Widget to next upcoming event” as a possible workaround because there is nothing between now and October.
First of all: this should be a functionality provide from the core – namely being able to show a specific week, a specific month in a year. The solution provided by changing the functions.php is tricky. So I’m all for a neath and easy solution here.
Secondly, the Plugin-aid “Fast forward Calendar Widget to next upcoming event” is not working (not with shortcode => that we knew, but also not with the mini-widget.)
Please urgent help would be very welcome.
Thank you kindly,Mieke

MemberHi Mieke,
Can you confirm you are using the plugin provided in the following knowledgebase article?
theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fast-forward-list-widget-to-next-upcoming-event
This doesn’t actually require you to modify your theme’s functions.php file in any way, it’s a bit more “plug and play” than that. If you are using code from elsewhere, can you link me to it so I can assess it?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi,
Yes indeed, that is the plugin “The Events Calendar: Advance Mini Calendar Widget” that I’ve uploaded, installed & activated.
Not using the shortcake – but the widget -> not showing the correct month – which should be October.See this test page : http://bntqb.net/index.php/istqb-ga-overview-test/
Please help?
Thank you,Kind Regards,

MemberThanks, Mieke – how odd!
I tried a few things here in order to replicate what you’ve experienced – including setting the number of events to list below the calendar grid to zero and also by adding the events list widget after the calendar widget.
Even so, I can’t replicate the problem as it appears on your site – in my case, it works as expected. I’m unsure what exactly might be going wrong in your case – but perhaps you could review the following troubleshooting steps:
theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts
In this case, that would mean deactivating all other plugins except for the helper plugin you downloaded from the above knowledgebase article plus The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. You would also need to switch to a default theme.
Alternatively, you might prefer to set up a clean installation of WordPress and start with the above plugins (and nothing else) and see if you can replicate there.
Hopefully this will help us to determine if there is a conflict of some kind at work here: regardless, I should point out that while we provide snippets and sometimes plugins like the “Advance Mini Cal Widget” one in the hope that they’ll be useful, we can’t guarantee they’ll work in every case.
