ParticipantMy issue is really very simply. Under settings, display, I have changed the default view to list instead of calendar. However, the only view I get is calendar as a default. I can changed to list view but it does not come up as default.

MemberHi Jimmy
Does the same thing happen when you use the Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/ theme? If so, can you continue conflicts testing by disabling all other plugins except those we created and see if the issue persists?
Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
We recommend conducting these tests on a staging server (https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-using-wordpress-staging-site/).
Also, double check for any other updates available (Dashboard ยป Updates).ย
Please let me know if the issue still persists after these tests.
Thanks

ParticipantOK, at this point I have deactivated all plugins with the exception of the Event Calendar Pro, and have tried both twentyfifteen and twentyseventeen. Still same thing. Setting up a staging server would be a real pain at this point though I could see the value later.
You have the latest version of WordPress. Future security updates will be applied automatically.
If you need to re-install version 4.9.1, you can do so here:Plugins

ParticipantThis is actually all very confusing at this point, though it was acting the same after changing to tweentyseventeen.
I am using the Avada theme. It came with a basic form of your event calendar. I updated to a pro. But I have three different areas where I can change settings. The first is in sidebar menu on the left in the dashboard under events – settings. The second is in the avada op;tions panel under events and then another one under the customization menu. There are also all of your shortcodes plus one simply [events]. That is the only one I have used that shows the options of switching between views and searching, etc. When I use your shortcodes for he mini calendar I get the calendar plus a simple list with

MemberHi Jimmy
Avada does add some of their own settings and display options to our plugins as part of their theme integration. This is usually a nice thing for users. However, it does help to test this on default themes as a result.
Would it be possible for you to send me the link to your site on a default theme with no other plugins active except TEC & ECP? I’d like to see the calendar display conflict in those settings, as I am unable to reproduce the issue on my end.
Thanks
