ParticipantI have created a user profile for my site at globalwe.wpengine.com. I am a Premium Member (Wishlist Member plugin), have a contributor role, and participant status in the forums.
When I am logged in as a premium member I see in my upper black admin bar I see two different options for adding events. (see screenshots attached).
One is under New+ > Post or Event
The other is under Events > Add EventI only need one link for members to use. How do I eliminate one?
Even though I am logged in, Events Calendar Pro does not recognize me as having the privileges to upload a feature image. (Also, no one can upload an event without registering).
The one login at wp-admin should enable a premium member to:
– add an event with an image, or an event series
– post
– participate in forums
– edit profileHow do we get the Events Calendar Pro plugin to recognize logged in members and allow them to create events with images?
We also use Events Calendar Community Calendar and Events Aggregator.

KeymasterHello there,
Thanks for reaching out to us with your questions.
For the first question on hiding the menu option I would recommend this article, which should help you get this sorted:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/disable-the-events-menu-on-the-dashboard/
Even though I am logged in, Events Calendar Pro does not recognize me as having the privileges to upload a feature image.
What is the role that you have with the logged in user? Can you upload featured images for posts and pages?
Also, no one can upload an event without registering
What are your settings under Events > Settings > Community tab? Do you allow anonymous submissions? If not, then a user needs to register and be logged in to be able to submit an event through the Community Events form.
The one login at wp-admin should enable a premium member to:
– add an event with an image, or an event series
– post
– participate in forums
– edit profileI can help you with the first one here. The rest of the items are not handled by our plugins at all, but in general you should look at the WordPress Roles and Capabilities.
To be able to add a featured image to an event you at least need to have ‘author’ capabilities. ‘Contributor’ is one level below that and is not enough.
Specifically, contributor doesn’t have the ‘upload_image’ capability.
There are some plugins which allow you to modify roles and capabilities or to even create new ones. You could use one of these to adjust R&C to your needs, but I advise caution not to create a security risk on your site.
In terms of profile, everyone should be able to manage theirs. If you want them to be able to manage others as well, that requires at least administrator capabilities which I would be really careful with.
Hope this helps you move forward.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Cheers,

ParticipantThanks, switching members to Author level did the trick with the image.
And that snippet helped eliminate that drop down for Events – all the links members need will be in the navigation and dashboard.
Does ECP do custom programming or recommend someone? We want to add a field for Premium Members only to upload a poster in jpg, png or pdf.

KeymasterI’m stoked to hear that helped! Awesome!
We cannot take on development and customization projects ourselves, but I can share with you this list of freelance developers who are known in the community and are not affiliated with us. They should be able to help you out with requests like this.
Is there anything else I can help you with?

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
