Many public Facebook events I try to import, it either hangs for many minutes going from msg “Please wait while your preview is fetched.” to “If all goes according to plan, you will have your preview in a few moments.” to “Your preview is taking a bit longer than expected, but it is still being generated.” and finally completes with “The preview is taking longer than expected. Please try again in a moment.”.
OR
“There was an error fetching the results from your import: Unknown service message”Example events:

Thanks for reaching out to us about this topic.
I’m sorry to hear you are being impacted by the recent Facebook changes.
Unfortunately, due to the most recent restrictions from Facebook, Event Aggregator is effectively blocked from importing events from Facebook.
We’ve set up the following page where you can get up-to-date information on the current status of Event Aggregator’s service > https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/
You might have received an email from us telling you about the current situation.
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Do let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Best,

The only reason I purchased this 10 days ago was because the legacy FB Events import stopped working. Your rep Jamie told me the EA was my only option, and didn’t give me any warning at all that it was also having issues, even though there was an official post about it as early as April 6:
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/importing-from-facebook-please-read-this-notice/If he had been honest and me about it, I would never have purchased it and wasted my money and time with not being able to import FB events.
April 19, 2018 at 5:52 am #1511090VictorKeymasterHi Tom,
We apologize for the confusion in regards to the Facebook issue. At the time Facebook announced changes in their API, it was still possible to import events from pages and single events, if those had a connection to the Facebook user importing them.
Consequent changes in the Facebook API resulted in the blockage of our Event Aggregator application from being able to import events.
I can see that a refund has already been processed for your Event Aggregator license, so the funds should be back in your account within 5-10 business days.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread, but feel free to open a new topic if anything comes up and we’ll be happy to help.
Best,
Victor -
