ParticipantHello,
I am testing the Event Aggregator to import events from an iCalendar (.ics) source. I tried a scheduled import yesterday, and it worked fine. Before testing a new source file today, I deleted all the events from yesterday’s test. When trying to import, I get the following errors.
One time import: Your preview doesn’t have any records to import
Scheduled import: No matching records foundThen, I tried emptying the Trash can in Events and tried the “Purge” function provided in this thread but no luck. I also disabled all other plugins in case of a conflict.
Here is the source I am working with.
Thank you,

ModeratorHi and welcome 🙂
Sorry to see you’re having troubles with Event Aggregator. It looks like the last event on the calendar you shared with me was yesterday, therefore there aren’t any events for the plugin to import.
Do you have a different calendar with upcoming events you can test with? If so, please try import events and let me know what the results are. Thanks and have a great rest of your day. Cheers!

ParticipantHello,
It seems that it will import when there are future events in the source file (it doesn’t import when there are only past events.)
When running the tests, we updated our .ics file to change descriptions, titles and remove an event (eg. cancellation).
However, after running the import with the updated source file, it did not removed the event in the calendar. Descriptions, titles, etc. were updated but the event not present in the source .ics was not removed in the calendar.
Is there a way to accomplish this? Our goal is for website’s calendar to be exact same as the .ics source.

ModeratorHi and thank you for the response.
At this time, you will need to manually delete events from you WordPress site. We have a feature report logged aimed to improve how Event Aggregator handles events deleted from the original source after initial the import, so I’ve added this forum thread to the ticket which helps expedite the process of getting it included in an upcoming release.
I don’t have a precise date when it will be available, but please stay tuned to our Release Notes and the plugin changelogs for more information. Thanks again and let me know if you’ve got any additional questions or comments. Cheers!

ParticipantHello,
Thank you for your help. This is unfortunate, since deleting events manually each time would create additional work and might cause inconsistencies in the website’s calendar. Would you happen to have a temporary workaround for deleting all the events in the calendar in one click? That way we could “purge” the web calendar before importing the .ics file.
I read some other threads. First, I found out about Event Rocket, but it’s not adequate since it also wipes settings and customization, not just events.
I also saw a snippet your team provided in this thread to purge deleted events. Would it be possible to have a something similar but to purge ALL events in the calendar instead of just the deleted ones?
Thank you,

ModeratorYou might want to look into a plugin like Bulk Delete for this functionality. Please let me know what you end up doing 🙂

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
