I initially added a scheduled import using an ICS url from Microsoft Office 365. The preview worked fine and all of the events were displayed, however after saving the scheduled import, no events were imported. Strangely, after clicking “Save Scheduled Import” I am taken to a blank screen instead of back to the WordPress Admin screen.
I then tried a one-time import of the first 5 events from the same ICS feed, but they did not import either. I have also tried using a generic U holidays ICS feed from the Internet, with the same results. The events display in the preview, but do not import. Again, after clicking on the Import All button, I am directed to this URL: https://beta.nrcaknights.com/wp-admin/edit.php?page=aggregator&post_type=tribe_events&tab=new. But this page doesn’t load, it is just blank. I can then reload the page and it loads fine, but no events are being imported.

Reporting the same issue as: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/scheduled-imports-not-working-13/December 7, 2017 at 7:02 am #1400273nrcaknightsParticipantUpon further testing, I am not able to directly import an ICS file either. I get the same results reported above; events show in preview, but do not end up importing.
I have switched to the Twenty Sixteen theme and disabled all plugins, but am seeing the same results.
December 8, 2017 at 1:23 pm #1401596BrendanKeymasterHi there,
Thanks for emailing support and sorry you are having issues with the imports. I see you already switched theme and plugins and now we want to see if there are an debug errors.
First, try reinstalling them by following these instructions. If that doesn’t help, the next step in troubleshooting this is going to be testing for conflicts with your theme and other plugins (with WP_DEBUG enabled).
Let me know what you find.
Thanks,
BrendanDecember 11, 2017 at 4:28 am #1402716nrcaknightsParticipantI have deleted the plugins and reinstalled them as directed. I have also, as mentioned previously, reverted to the Twenty Sixteen them and deactivated all plugins, but am still experiencing the same issue. Event appear in the preview for either a scheduled import or a one-time import, but when teh import is actually run, no events are created.

2017-12-11 00:17:01 Record (10571) skipped, not scheduled time debug EA CronDecember 11, 2017 at 2:08 pm #1403178BrendanKeymasterHi there,
Thanks for sharing this info with us! Could you please access Events > Help and share a screenshot of the Event Aggregator System Status? Do you see any errors in there?
Perhaps you reached your daily limit of imports after a while, and some imports didn’t run, or too many requests went out and your server might not have been able to handle all the response.
Thanks!
BrendanDecember 12, 2017 at 4:37 am #1403495nrcaknightsParticipantAttached is the requested screenshot. Please note that I am running wp-cron.php using a real cron script that runs every hour. Also, the number of imports (12 imports used out of 100 available today) has never changed from one day to the next. Last, the imports are not working for one-time imports either.
Our site is scheduled to go live in a little over 24 hours, so any extra help figuring this out would be great.
Thanks,
DougDecember 12, 2017 at 6:41 pm #1404215BrendanKeymasterHi Doug,
Can you try reactivating the default cron and try the import along with a one time import? Sometimes we have see conflicts when the default cron is not active.
Let me know how that goes.
Thanks,
BrendanDecember 12, 2017 at 6:56 pm #1404229nrcaknightsParticipantSorry, but I’m getting the same results. I am attaching a screenshot showing the standard wp-cron enabled. What is frustrating is that the events show up fine in the preview before either saving the scheduled import or before importing the events from a file. I’m attaching a second screenshot showing the preview. I am also attaching the log file downloaded from the Help page.
December 14, 2017 at 1:34 pm #1405967BrendanKeymasterHi Doug,
Thanks for the screenshots. So now we want to see if the actual aggregator cron is working.
In order to check this can you download and activate this plugin? WP Control
Once you have this activated, please check if these two cron jobs are running:
- tribe_aggregator_cron
- tribe_aggregator_process_insert_records
Let me know what you find and any screenshot will be helpful as well.
Thanks,
BrendanDecember 14, 2017 at 1:44 pm #1405970nrcaknightsParticipantAs soon as I get back to a computer, I’ll give this a try. Is there any way I can test the aggregator from the command line?
Thanks,
DougDecember 14, 2017 at 2:15 pm #1405993nrcaknightsParticipantYes, both of those jobs are listed as running. Attached is a screenshot showing the entries for those items.
Thanks,
DougDecember 15, 2017 at 6:59 am #1406352nrcaknightsParticipantAfter digging through the log files of my web server, I found some errors being logged after trying to an import. It turns out that I was missing the PHP-XML library. As soon as I installed that library, the imports started working immediately.
It might be helpful, for future customers, if you could list the required PHP libraries somewhere on your website. This would have been an easy fix if I had know that particular library was required.
Thanks,
DougDecember 15, 2017 at 2:11 pm #1406792BrendanKeymasterHi Doug,
Glad you figured this out and definitely a great suggestion. I will mark this as resolved in the mean time in case any users need this advice.
Thanks,
