Not sure when this started or if it is intermittent, but I am not seeing a calendar display at https://steeplechasers.org/events/
Interestingly, when logged in, the wordpress admin bar (black bar at top) isn’t displayed either for this page, but is displayed for other pages.
Any suggestions how to debug?
just updated to latest versions: the-events-calendar.4.6.17, tec-community-events-4.5.12, the-events-calendar-filter-bar.4.5.6, the-events-calendar-pro-4.4.27
I see mostly happy stuff in the console (note I see the parser blocking cross site messages on other pages as well):

(anonymous) @ stats.js:1June 1, 2018 at 11:43 am #1544200LouParticipantI started deactivating plugins and got lucky because the problem was resolved when deactivating an early plugin in the list: All-in-One WP Migration.
Will you be able to figure out why there is a new issue with this plugin working with yours?
I generally use this plugin nightly for backups, so I don’t believe I can leave it disabled.
June 1, 2018 at 12:51 pm #1544282LouParticipantActually it is All in One WP Migration Google Drive extension. I can’t seem to reproduce on another server. Please help me help you debug this with suggestions.
June 1, 2018 at 8:40 pm #1544426BrendanKeymasterHi there,
Thanks for emailing support and sorry you are having issues. Extensions can be tricky. I know the all in one migration plugin itself does work with our latest plugins but not sure on extensions. Unfortunately, our support is limited on 3rd party plugins/extensions. Some things you can try are reaching out to the plugin developer and enabling WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages with the plugin developer to see where there may be a conflict.
Let me know how that goes.
Thanks,
BrendanJune 2, 2018 at 2:12 pm #1544732LouParticipantThanks. There was no output in the debug log from either plugin (yours or theirs) when the error occurs. Plan is to back out to releases which were working to try to isolate the problem between the two plugins. The other plugin vendor is supporting, and plans to try to reproduce but I don’t have a lot of hope because as mentioned I wasn’t able to reproduce on another vhost.
Unfortunately I’m going out of town for a week and won’t be able to work on this while out.
Please keep this open if possible. Or if you do close it I hope I can comment on it later.
June 2, 2018 at 3:51 pm #1544745LouParticipantActually this problem happens occasionally even with the other plugin disabled. Now I think it is some kind of weird timing issue within The Events Calendar. The problem seems to happen at the page https://steeplechasers.org/events/ once in every 10-20 page loads (about).
Interestingly I am seeing mariadb warnings immediately when the page paints successfully, but NO mariadb warnings when the page doesn’t paint. Or at least not for 20-30 seconds.

June 2, 2018 at 3:54 pm #1544746LouParticipanthmm, that didn’t format very well with the backticks in the text. If you want I can send these by email, but probably not until I get back from my vacation.
June 4, 2018 at 4:33 pm #1545938BrendanKeymasterHi there,
Can you put this in a text file and upload it?
Thanks,
BrendanJune 7, 2018 at 2:13 pm #1548880LouParticipantSorry for the delay. I am out of town and unable to reproduce until I get
back. I hope to have something uploaded by Monday. Thanks for the help with this one.
June 7, 2018 at 7:53 pm #1549024BrendanKeymasterNo problem, I will keep this ticket open.
Thanks,
BrendanJune 8, 2018 at 4:10 am #1549172LouParticipantThe other plugin vendor is also looking at this, even though it seems to happen intermittently when the other plugin is disabled (which I think means their plugin is not the problem). They’ve asked me to make a .wpress file for them which is the format they use to backup the database and all the files, which can be restored using their plugin (All-in-One WP Migration). I can give you access to this file if you’d like to debug locally as well. I have it on a google drive, and could share it with an email address which is on google’s system, if you’d like.
Note I will be back home and trying to debug this in earnest myself starting Sunday.
If you want me to share this file (2GB), please supply a gmail/g suite address to share with. This file should not be shared with the world, as it has some private information within.
June 8, 2018 at 1:35 pm #1549669BrendanKeymasterHi Lou,
Unfortunately we would not be able to install this anywhere since we do not have an environment setup. But I can wait for the results.
Thanks,
BrendanJune 15, 2018 at 3:56 am #1554115LouParticipantI’ve done some experimentation and it seems like the issue happens not because of a specific other plugin, but if there are “too many” other plugins active. E.g., if I disable Yoast SEO the problem goes away, but if I enable Yoast SEO and disable the All-in-One Migration plugins, the problem goes away. With all of those plugins enabled the problem is seen.
When the problem is seen, for some reason tribe-events-ajax-calendar.js isn’t loading. Scroll down to see the console output for working and failure behaviors.
If you can’t debug this yourself with a wpress file, please give me guidance.
I have the following in my .htaccess file and do not see anything in php-error.log:
# PHP error handling for development servers php_flag display_startup_errors on php_flag display_errors on php_flag html_errors on php_flag log_errors on php_flag ignore_repeated_errors off php_flag ignore_repeated_source off php_flag report_memleaks on php_flag track_errors on php_value docref_root 0 php_value docref_ext 0 php_value error_log /var/www/sandbox.steeplechasers.org/logs/php-errors.log # [see footnote 3] # php_value error_reporting 999999999 php_value error_reporting -1 php_value log_errors_max_len 0
I have the following in my wp-config.php file:
// Enable WP_DEBUG mode define( 'WP_DEBUG', true ); // Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true ); // Disable display of errors and warnings define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false ); @ini_set( 'display_errors', 0 ); // Use dev versions of core JS and CSS files (only needed if you are modifying these core files) define( 'SCRIPT_DEBUG', true ); define('SAVEQUERIES', true);

So it definitely doesn’t seem like it’s a plugin incompatibility. At least to me it seems like a timing issue within TheEventsCalendar, or possibly WordPress itself. I’m not sure the inner workings on how javascript files get executed.
Supporting the timing theory, when one particular plugin was deactivated the problem went away for the most part, but appeared occasionally.

Try running this plugin to check for issues between plugins. Note that its not our plugin and use at your own risk.

Let me know if you find anything.
Thanks,
