Need to edit theme options on main events page

I own a few licenses for Events Calendar Pro so this is more of a pre-sale renew question. With my current pro version 4.0.3 I cannot edit the main events page within the CMS like I can with all of the other pages in the site. This is very restricting for me because there are certain theme options that I can only access by editing the page. Does the new version allow you to edit the page or override /events/ with a different page that I can pull in the monthly calendar and sort features?

In particular, I need to adjust the header options above the calendar content. Select a special navigation style and adjust padding of the header image. This can only be done by editing the page in the CMS. I’ve already added in the header slider by putting that shortcode in the “Add HTML before event content” area in the settings but i need access to make more adjustments. Attached is the desired calendar view/style. I haven’t been able to replicate this with the current widget shortcodes available.

If this is not possible, am I able to edit the template itself? If so, where?

Please reference our Themer’s Guide to learn how to do template overrides, and also give our Calendar Widget Areas extension a try (should be publicly-released this or next week so here’s the direct zip download file for it).
