Cindy
ParticipantHi,
When I type in the name of a city in the Near field nothing happens. I can remove that and click on the same city name in the Venue section and events appear. The only info I’m tracking in Venues is the city/state or city/country if that matters. I have gone into settings and have turned on Enabled Google maps but that did not help.
The example I used in my test was Denver and Denver, CO
Thanks

MemberHi Cindy!
It seems like something is stopping various things from working as expected on that bar … I’m wondering if your theme – or another plugin – might be getting in the way here/causing a conflict.
Would it be possible to run through our standard troubleshooting steps in case there is indeed a conflict?

MemberHi Cindy,
Perhaps some of your addresses don’t have complete addresses and so it wasn’t possible to determine the actual location (which is handled by Google’s geolocation service).
For example, your new-york-ny venue only has a partial address and the map shows it as being near Coffeyville, Kansas. Similarly so for your woodland-hills-ca venue.
If I use Coffeyville in the near field, it does appear to work as expected, however. Perhaps you could revisit your venues, ensure the addresses are complete and valid or – if that’s not possible – manually specify the coordinates in the fields provided for that purpose in the venue editor?
Does that help?

ParticipantOk.. So that is the issue. I’m not entering in the complete addresses because each one will be different and that is too time consuming. In this case I can’t use the location field and will just remove it.
Thanks so much and happy July 4th,
Cindy

MemberOK – remember though that Events Calendar PRO has the ability to set coordinates if you do want to work around this (though I appreciate that may similarly consume too much time).
If you’re happy to remove that field, though, that’s great too 🙂
Thanks again and enjoy July 4th.
