MemberHi Thomas, I think perhaps you are misinterpreting my instructions. What I have suggested a couple of times now is that you set the Start Date/Time and the End Date/Time to the same date – whereas you have set them to two different dates.
So, instead of having a start date of 2013-01-04 and an end date of 2013-01-25 these should both be 2013-01-04. Here’s those basic instructions again:
- Create a new event
- Set the Start Date/Time and the End Date/Time to Monday 7 January 2013 (or whatever the first day is in your case)
- Choose Recurrence: Custom
- Ending on Monday 28 January 2013 (or whatever the last day is in your case)
- Frequency should be Weekly Every 1 Week(s) on Monday
In your case you will want to use 2013-01-04 instead of Monday 7 January 2013 and 2013-01-25 instead of Monday 28 January 2013. Otherwise, those are pretty much the instructions you need to follow here.
Does that help?

Participantok that worked but now how do we do every other week? we tried weekly every 2 weeks.
thanks.

MemberYeah that sounds exactly right if you want for example Monday 7 January, then Monday 21 January, then Monday 4 February (so every other week).
What are you seeing? Can you provide another screenshot of your settings and tell me which event I should be looking out for on your calendar page?

MemberI have a related question… I have WooTickets by not EventPro yet. I guess if EventPro solves this problem, then I’ll buy it. My client has events where someone purchases an eight week teleseminar. The seminars occur once a week for 8 weeks, and they pay at the beginning. Is there anything in EventPro that can do this? I’m trying to avoid having the event show up every day in the calendar (instead of just once/week), and avoid having eight events created (when it’s really only one seminar and people can’t sign up mid-seminar.

MemberHi Justin, just for future reference it’s generally better to ask separate questions in separate threads. If you, Thomas and Javier all start posting follow-up questions of your own this thread will quickly become very confusing.
That said, Events Calendar PRO does not in itself offer any selling tools. It does provide recurring event support, however neither our WooTickets or Eventbrite Tickets add-ons currently offer recurring event support.
If all you want to do is sell access to a block of seminars then you should be able to do that with WooTickets and possibly you could also leverage Events Calendar PRO as a tool to list each seminar date on the calendar – but it will not add the capability to sell access to individual events in a sequence.
I hope that makes sense, but if you need further clarification please don’t hesitate to create a new thread either here or in the WooTickets forum 🙂

ParticipantBarry,
I cannot as they had to put one in each day. I can tell you that when we did that it dod not show any events except for the first day.
Thanks.January 7, 2013 at 8:08 am #30361Barry
MemberThomas – OK, it’s a little hard to help out though if I can’t see what you have done or what the actual result is.
Would it be possible for you to set this up in a testing/staging environment and replicate this there, or else to create a sequence of events scheduled far enough in the future (2016 for instance) that it won’t adversely impact on your site?
If you can do that and send a URL and a screenshot of your settings that would be great 🙂

ParticipantI am trying but the update spinner keeps spinning. I tested the server and all other things but it seems to happen only on the events plugin. do you have a fix for that as I think that might be the issue.
January 7, 2013 at 9:39 am #30374Barry
MemberHi Thomas, per my earlier post that’s a quite different issue and because I don’t want this thread to become even more confused it would be great if you could create a new thread and we’ll deal with that issue there.
Although it’s undesirable it only affects the calendar widget: you can still see the “full page” calendar at this URL http://www.barnegat.net/events/ and it is not affected by the same issue, so you should still be able to go ahead and create a custom recurring event sequence, take a screenshot (of your settings) to share with me and then point me to the missing events in the calendar.
Thanks!

Hey again Thomas – I may have completely misunderstood you. Do you mean when you create a new event/update an existing event? And you are seeing the spinner .gif but nothing else happens?

MemberThomas: one more point, if the information you provided when you opened this thread is correct you are using an out-of-date version of our plugins. If that is true, can you update both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO to the latest version (2.0.10)?
January 7, 2013 at 9:47 am #30380Thomas
Participantaha. it only spins on the update not on the new entry.
January 7, 2013 at 10:01 am #30383Thomas
ParticipantBTW when doing an update this is when we are having issues.
January 7, 2013 at 10:05 am #30385Barry
MemberOK, and are you using the latest versions of our plugins?
