ParticipantDear Andras,
thanks for your post. Could you explain to me what exactly you are waiting for? I mean what else do you need to find the solution for the wrongly imported event? Can I provide any further informaiton?
I am asking because my client would like to know what went wrong and how to improve upcoming imports in order to avoid any further issues.
Thanks for a short reply in advance! Have a good day!

ParticipantHi András,
now I haven’t heard of you for two weeks already. How about the Problem of importing events?
My client just told me that meanwhile there are new errors:
E. g. “Lateinfahrt” should last from 2nd – 4th April (due to google Cal) but occurs in events calendar from 4th – 6th April.
Another issue: “Spanienaustausch” should take place from 6th – 11th April but is set to 11th – 16th April in events calendar.
Regarding these new issues it is likely that during the import the end of the original date is set as beginning for the fals date whereas the duration remains the same. Please check again and let me know how we can solve the issue!
Best regards!

KeymasterHa Gesine,
Thanks for pinging me.
The tool was fixed last week and I started looking into the issue, also now I tried to check the above two events, but no luck so far.
Though it gave me some thoughts / ideas.
When were these 2 events imported? Was it at the same time as “Osterferien” and the Christmas one? (I haven’t been able to find these in the last 4-5 months of imports. Note for me: until record id 5323497)
Did they get imported with the wrong date at the start already?
Have you tried what happens if you delete these events with the wrong date (and remove them from the ignored list) and run the import again? Do they get imported with the wrong dates again? If possible, please give this one a try.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Andras,
I cannot tell you when exactly these events have been imported. But as they are events planned for a long time I assume the should have been imported together with the other events for the whole year in February/March (I don’t remember when exactly I installed the plugin extension for Gcal imports).
But I was successful with deleting both of the events manually and importing them anew. Now they have the correct date. By the way: Sorry, but my client gave me the wrong dates: It is 2nd – 4th MAY and 6th – 11th MAY (not Arpil as written in my previous post).
Now I know a solution to handle these wrong imports manually at least. But please let me know if you have a basic solution for this issue that prevents similars errors in the future.
Thanks and sunny regards!

KeymasterGuten Morgen Gesine
Thanks for getting back to me, I’m happy to hear you the re-import worked.
This might have been an isolated case in which the dates got mixed at that one import.
I have already contacted one of the developers and will have a talk with him later this week about the case and what he thinks. I’ll let you know afterwards.
Schöne Tage

Vielen Dank für deine Geduld!
I’m sorry it took so long to get back to you. The developer working on EA was out for some days and I couldn’t get a hold of him until now.
I just had a lengthy discussion with him and ran some tests. Our conclusion is that likely you have run into issues with EA we had in the past. We are sorry about this.
Since then there were a lot of improvements on the service, we have deployed various fixes and enhancements 9 times since January and we keep doing that on a regular basis. The system has become much more robust.
For the future I recommend the following:
- If a glitch like this happens again, please let us know. If it happens we might have a bug and we would like to track it down and exterminate it. 🙂 The more details you can share with us the better. Especially helpful is 1) when the event was first imported; 2) approximately when did the dates change to wrong ones
- If the dates are wrong you can manually change them after import or
- like I suggested above, delete the event (and remove from ignored) and re-import it again.
Thanks again for sticking with us for so long.
If there is anything else I can help with, then let me know. Otherwise if there are no issues I would close this topic.
Freundliche Grüsse
Andras

ParticipantHi Andras,
thanks for the update. Just to make sure I got you right: Right now you cannot detect any issues that are solvable by the developer team. If any further issues occur we should let you know. So you are just hoping the imports are working fine in the future?! I hope so, too! 🙂After closing the ticket, will I still be able to read ourdiscussion in the future?
Thanks for your support and

MemberHi Gesine,
Andras is mostly unavailable this week but I wanted to stop by and offer you a response to your last set of questions 🙂
Right now you cannot detect any issues that are solvable by the developer team.
Exactly. We believe this should not be a problem with new imports now and in the future – the cause of the issues you experienced have, we think, been resolved.
After closing the ticket, will I still be able to read ourdiscussion in the future?
Absolutely. This will remain accessible and if you create a new help desk conversation in the future you can easily link and refer back to this one.
