    Hi,

I’m getting multiple copies of recurring event in blog feed.

When entering a recurring event i used to get one copy of the event appear in the blog feed. Now I get 3 copies if the event is on three days, 7 copies if the event is on 7 days etc

I’m using calendar pro with filter bar, community events and facebook.

I vaguely remember reading of someone having the same problem last year, but i couldnt find the entry in the forums. There was if i remember a code snip to stop the multiple copies appearing until you had fixed the bug.

    Thankyou

Hi Simon. I can help with this.

Would you please provide me some screenshots of your recurring event’s settings in the wp-admin Event edit screen?

Please provide any other screenshots you think may be helpful. I’ll review them and let you know what I find out.

    Thanks!

    Hi Cliff

Here a shot of my general settings https://cloudup.com/coGspJmXjbT

    php changes in child theme

I have it set for events to appear in the blog feed based on published date. With events i dont want to appear in the feed, i just set the publish date for 1916, 100 years in the past.

as an aside it would be great to have a tick box in add event sidebar for ‘have event appear in blog feed’ so that events appearance could be included individually rather than globally as a present – but that’s an aside to the multiple events appearing.

    Thank you for your help

    Simon

I’m not sure I understand exactly what you’re wanting to pull off, but have you seen this KB article? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/order-events-in-main-blog-loop-by-post-date/

If you need additional assistance, maybe you could provide me a screenshot of what is being rendered on the front-end now and some annotations of what you’re wanting fixed there.

    Thanks.

When i put a recurring event in the calendar, i see multiple copies of the event in the blog feed.

How do i ensure that only one copy of the event appears in the blog, getting 3-27 copies of the same event in the blog feed doesnt look good

    Cheers

    Thanks for clarifying.

This isn’t something we’ve noticed so please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

If it still happens with default theme and all other plugins disabled, please share some links or screenshots for us to review.

Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks.

    Hi Cliff

One recurring event creates multiple blog feed entries – see this example into the woods https://cloudup.com/cPmozxF3Qnc

I only want a recurring event to show one entry (which is what used to happen) in the blog feed.

Thanks for the screenshot. I tried that option on my local testing site and couldn’t reproduce it.

Either you actually have duplicate(s) events and that’s why they’re appearing more than once, or you might be experiencing a plugin or theme conflict.

If you don’t have actual duplicate events, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks.
