Hi,
I think I may have confused myself whilst digging through your documentation, but basically I needed a way to have calendars show specific events categories
If found this option to show only events from the category your-journey-to-self-employment
http://www.businessfactorynt.co.uk/events/category/outdoors/your-journey-to-self-employment/
But I also wanted a calendar that was the inverse of this i.e. all of the remaining categories.
I bought the Pro plugin thinking I could use the following:
[tribe_events view=”month” categories=”design, networking, social-media”]
But this does not work, and I’m guessing this got mixed up whilst looking up short code information, e.g.
[tribe_events view=”month” category=”your-journey-to-self-employment”] – OK
[tribe_mini_calendar categories=”design, networking, social-media”] – OK
[tribe_events view=”month” categories=”design, networking, social-media”] – Not OKI then spotted the comment -‘ Unfortunately, the [tribe_events] shortcode does not currently support multiple categories’ on the page https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/filtering-events-using-short-tags-not-working/
So the workaround would be to create a parent category for the multiple categories I want to display
Based on the above it looks like I didn’t need the Pro version at all (I have gained nothing in terms of what I want to do).
Can you please confirm I am right as I may want to drop the pro version and get a refund.
Thanks in advance
AlexOctober 4, 2017 at 9:07 am #1358976VictorKeymasterHi Alex!
Thanks for reaching out to us! Let me help you with this.
You are right in that the [tribe_events] shortcode does not currently support multiple categories. You can learn more about all the available shortcodes for Events Calendar PRO here > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
If you still want to proceed with the refund, please fill in the form in here > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/refund-policy/ and we’ll take care of it.
From what you want to achieve with the categories, it seems that you might find useful our Filter Bar plugin > https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-filterbar/
I hope that clears things out. Don’t hesitate to ask any other question and I’d be happy to help.
Best,
