GuestI’m helping a friend design a WordPress.org site. We would like to have one calendar view that shows every category and only show it on the events page. This part is fine, but would like to have 2 other Upcoming Events list view calendars, one for a certain category and one for the other. Is this possible with the Event Calendar or the Pro?
Lastly, in the upcoming events we would like to create a styling similar to the data icon in the screen shot of the Event Calendar Pro widget. Is this possible using the list view calendars or is it only accessible for the widget? With that, what benefits does the widget grant?
Thank you!

MemberHi,
Thanks for the interest in our plugins. I can answer your questions.
The plugin does create a Category View for each Event Category with the main views of month, list, map, etc…
For example if you have an event category of Lettuce the url is this:
yoursite.com/events/category/lettuce/
So that is one way to show only events from one category in the main views and you can link directly to any of those.
The list view even in Pro does not have the feature have those date icons.
It is possible with a customization.
Or you could embed the Pro Event List widget using the shortcode.
You can read more about the widgets here:
And the shortcodes here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks

ParticipantThanks for this advice, Brian.
I also need a category page with the list above.
But I also need to put some more detailed content to each category page. It would be great to do this in the editor.
I found the template, but this is in the plugins-folder.
I would need a template with the same code in it but for my themes-folder, so I could choose it for this specific pages.
Is there a possibility to do this?-

MemberHi,
Thanks for posting here. I can certainly help you here, but we can help you better if you create your own topic in the forum, where we can interact with you one on one. Also, we encourage you to post on your own topic because every time we post it will email the author of the topic.
Also, this is the pre-sales forum so please post your questions to the premium forum:

To help get you started you can modify our templates we have our themer’s guide:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
That shows you how to move and edit templates in your theme.
As for shortcodes we have this guide for our Widget Shortcodes:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
We do not have shortcodes for the main views of month, list, map, etc…
If you have follow up questions please create your own topic in the premium forum reference this one and we can take it from there.
Thanks
