ParticipantHi there – here is my use-case, hoping you can help… ๐
I have a client who runs a zip-line company and he holds events where people can book a time-slot within an event.
So what I want to do is create an event but split it into (for example) 30 tickets each with a unique time so people buy a ‘slot’… 9:00-9:15, 9:15-9:30, 9:30-9:45 etc. Each of these will have a ticket.
Is there any way of doing this without creating 30 events with the same date? Maybe an appointments type plugin?
Any help appreciated!

KeymasterHi Rob,
Thanks for reaching out!
Unfortunately there is not an out of the box way to do this – we don’t currently have any “appointment”-like functionality. If this is a feature you would like to see added in the future, please let us know over in our Feature Ideas Forum. This is what we use to gauge user interest in new features and help plan for future development.
You could achieve what you are looking for by customizing the code, but it would be fairly involved. If you’d like to give it a shot, I would recommend taking a look at our themer’s guide, which has some great info on customizing our plugins. We also have a list of recommended developers if you would like to get some help with the code.
For now, I think your best bet here is going to be creating separate tickets for each time slot. This way you only have to create one event, and then users can select the time slot they would like (you also have the ability to set a cap on the available stock for each ticket).
I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer for you, but I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Jennifer

ParticipantHi Jennifer, that’s a shame. I see looking through the tickets that it’s something that has been requested quite a few times over the years so I guess it isn’t coming? I use TEC on a few sites but will have to drop it for this one – that makes me sad ๐

KeymasterHi Rob,
Yes we have had several requests for this functionality, and I actually just took a look through our forum and found that this request was actually declined – sorry for the bad news! Building out this functionality would be a large-scale development task that is unfortunately not within our current scope.
There are ways to get a very basic form of this functionality, like adding custom fields with Event Tickets Plus for users to enter a time, but there would not be any validation on the field or any way (out of the box) to check if that time had already been booked by another user. For a real, robust appointment-type functionality, unfortunately another plugin that is focused on this type of scheduling is going to be your best bet here.
I’m sorry it didn’t work out for this project, but best of luck in finding another solution! I took a quick look around and found a few plugins that you might want to look into…Pinpoint integrates with WooCommerce as our plugins do, as doesย Booklyย (in their Pro version). I also found this list of a few other recommended booking plugins. I hope that helps get you started in your search!
