ParticipantHello – Hope all is well.
Just to let you know that, all of a sudden, the calendar monthly view is now messed up. We have updated to the latest version of the Calendar Pro plugin.
Please take a look: http://www.artsipelago.net/events-monthly-calendar/
Let us know what you find. Thank you.
This is urgent – organization is promoting lots of holiday-related events.
Best regards,
Thierry

KeymasterHi Thierry,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
As a first step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:1. A conflict with another plugin
2. A conflict with your WordPress theme
3. A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating
When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
1. Make a backup of your database
2. Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Before proceeding, please make sure you are working with the most recent versions of our plugins.
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantHi Jaime,
Thank you for your e-mail. It does look like it’s a Theme issue. If I revert to a basic Theme, the monthly calendar works. I’m not sure how to fix this and we this is a rather large website and we don’t have a staging area.
I found a work around – sort of – http://www.artsipelago.net/events-monthly-calendar/
Do you know if I can add the name of the venue and or the city they are in?
Let me know – thank you.
Best regards,
Thierry

KeymasterHi Thierry,
I’m glad to hear that at least you have been able to find a workaround for now. Are you using a widget to display the calendar?
If so, you have the option to add additional information by navigating to your Widget options. You can add Display options, like city and venue.
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantHello Jaime,
Thank you for your reply but…
This isn’t a widget. We placed the following shortcode:
[tribe_mini_calendar thumb=‘true’ limit=’50’ venue=’true’ excerpt=’true’ raw_excerpt=’true’]
on this page: http://www.artsipelago.net/events-monthly-calendar/
But venues or excerpts no matter how we write them “true” or ‘true’ or ‘yes’ or “yes” don’t seem to work. The page only shows the name of the events and the dates, not the location/venue or excerpts.
Let us know if you have additional thoughts. Thank you!
Best regards,
Thierry

KeymasterHi Thierry,
It looks like you cannot add some of those filters to the mini calendar, but try this (or something like it) instead:
[tribe_mini_calendar thumb=”yes” limit=”50″]
[tribe_events_list venue=”yes” city=”yes”]
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime
