Month view widget, with week selected or whole month

Hi,

I did install the free version of your plugin, and now I try to achieve the following on my front page and I am wondering whether this is possible with the PRO version or one of your addons:

I would like to show a widget with a mini calendar (somehow a bit like the mini widget or the mobile view), but I do not want to have a single day selected or to force the user to click onto every day in order to see the events (as there will be only 5-8 events per month). I would like to either

• do not select anything in the small calendar month view, but show a list of all events of the month beside / below this small calendar, and give the user an option to browse the months, and/or
• select always a full week in the small calendar, and show a list of all events of this selected week beside / below the small calendar. Every click on the small calendar selects the full week, and there is an option to browse through the months.

Is this possible?

Hi Matt,

Great question! Events Calendar PRO does include a number of widgets, and a mini month calendar is one of them.

However, I’m afraid that it does not allow you to select a week at a time and display events exactly the way you describe.

There is a week view widget in Events Calendar PRO you may be interested in though. It includes a shortcode that allows you to embed the widget in any page or post and decide whether you want it in a horizontal or vertical layout. Here is a guide that provides more information on the widget shortcode and here is a screenshot of how that looks.

Thanks for the reply. I have seen the week view widget, but this is not what I am looking for.

I really need a month view. If the week select is not possible on then mini widget, what about the other alternative (to not select any day or week in the mini widget at all, and just display all events of the month beside the mini calendar) – would that work?

I’m sorry to say that this would not be possible right out of the box. It may very well be possible to make it happen with some custom development (and we have recommended developers who could help) but unfortunately not a feature that has been built by default.
