ParticipantGreetings!
Love the plugin and think you guys are doing a wonderful job! Since this new 4.1.2 update today, the month views have been screwed up. It was working fine last night and the only update I’ve done was for the Calendar and Pro versions. (sidebar: wished we didn’t have to have both loaded if we’ve paid for the pro version).
After the update tonight, I was browsing around and noticed they were ‘off’. This seems to be centered around recurring events and not regular events. So I tested a theory with this: Removed an instance for a recurring event and manually placed it (May 22) and it appears fine. Then tried to see if I needed to change the cache for the month view. It was already set. So now the events I already had in the calendar are not correct and I’ll have to go back in and fix those manually for them to show up accordingly. If you look at June 25th, the two workshops were inputted manually and the recurring is in the middle. The earliest workshop is listed on the bottom, next workshop on top and evening service in the middle.
I’ve gone through plugin by plugin deactivating and seeing if there was a conflict. To no avail, I had to contact you for help. 🙁 Any assistance?

ParticipantHey David,
Sorry to hear about all of this. I don’t notice anything with my own site’s Month View ordering, so am curious about the nature of your issue.
1. First, can you share a link to your site so we can see the issue live?
2. Next, share your site’s “System information” → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
I’ll take a closer look with that information in hand and see if I can identify what you describe.
Thank you!

ParticipantThank you George for taking a look. The list view below the mini-calendar AND list view both list them in correct order. Just the actual calendar has them out of order.

ParticipantHey David,
Thanks for your patience here. I’ve been trying to recreate your issues but am failing to do so. 🙁
I have the same versions of all Events Calendar add-ons as you and everything, so there isn’t a version conflict here; but there could possibly be a theme or plugin code conflict.
To test for this, I would recommend doing the complete set of troubleshooting steps here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
After EACH STEP in that process, have a look at a day like June 25 and see if the event ordering is different at all.
This might sound tedious but I can assure that it’s a much faster process to go through than it sounds.
Let us know what you find!
Thank you,
GeorgeApril 13, 2016 at 5:56 pm #1102250Michael Jones
ParticipantUnfortunately, it still isn’t working since the update.
First, I disabled all plugins except for The Events Calendar & Events Calendar Pro. Changed the theme to Twenty Fifteen. Viewed the calendar and it was still messed up. I removed all the recurring events and entered two events on Sunday. The first one was from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm. The second one was 2:00 pm – 2:30 pm. The second one was listed last on the main calendar display but fine in the list. I reverted to a daily backup before the update to the calendar. The only updates I now have are for the 4.1.2 for the Event Calendar and Event Calendar Pro. Everything works fine. The only thing I didn’t do is completely uninstall the Event Calendar/Pro plugins and download new versions. But as of right now, I have the updates waiting but it works just fine 🙁 Hopefully you can find something out.

ParticipantSorry to hear this @David—I’ll be roping in some developers on our team to help me investigate this odd behavior!
Thank you for taking the time to investigate other plugins and the theme and such.
One thing you mentioned stood out to me here:
I reverted to a daily backup before the update to the calendar.
What versions of the plugins are running in this daily backup version of your site? Share the “system information” of this specific backup version of your site if possible, or if different from the information you already shared….
Thank you for your patience here! This is an odd issue that we’ve thus far been unable to recreate, but I can assure you that we’re trying to figure this out.
Sincerely,
GeorgeApril 17, 2016 at 9:22 am #1103590Michael Jones
ParticipantI didn’t update anything was the same except for the updates to the Events Calendar. Sorry for the delay. My real job demanded weekend work 🙂
Is there a way you can compare 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 in the calendar and see what lines have changed? That is the only thing that didn’t work and it was regarding recurring events.

ParticipantThank you for your patience here, David—both with the thread/issue in general, but just over these past few days specifically, too. I was out of office for a bit to tend to some health issues and was unable to follow-up with this thread, among others.
So, thank you for sitting tight here.
I’m really sorry to report little progress on this; as noted, we’ve not been able to recreate the ordering problem you describe, so this investigation is unfortunately still “open” and in progress.
Thanks for sitting tight! I am back around in more normal capacity and will initiate another round of attempting to recreate this behavior.
Sincerely,
GeorgeApril 20, 2016 at 1:41 pm #1105060George
ParticipantHey David,
I know I just posted only a matter of minutes ago, but I reached out to our team and our team members Nico and Barry came to the rescue—it turns out that they have experienced the problem too and are working hard on a fix for this, which we can hopefully publish in the next maintenance release.
I don’t have a specific ETA for the arrival of this release, but if all goes to plan it should be published before May is upon us. Early to mid May is a likely arrival time, too.
Thank you for your patience here. I’m sorry about the pace of getting fixes published, but I hope that the fact that we’ve identified the problem and are working on a concrete fix here is a cause for optimism.
Sorry for the trouble here.
Sincerely,
GeorgeMay 5, 2016 at 9:35 am #1111076Support Droid
