Month-view Event hovers (".tribe-events-tooltip") not showing since 4.0 upgrade

Just upgraded to 4.0, previously I would get the description of events via hovering over them in the Month list. Since the 4.0 upgrade though, hovering over an event in the month list does nothing. Can you give me any clues as to what might have changed with the hover behavior in 4.0 so I can try to figure out what might be causing it?

Hey Will,

I see what you mean! I just visited your site and see that the tooltips are not activated on hover when in Month View.

Just to be sure, have you updated both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO to 4.0? The reason I ask is that the tooltips appear to work for me on my test site (screenshot), so I want to make sure we’re both running the same versions.

If you are totally updated and still see the issue, it would be helpful if you could run through the steps outlined in this article so we can tell if there is a conflict coming from somewhere else.

Let’s start here and see what we find.

Hi Geoff,

It looks like the hovers do work normally on the Twenty Thirteen Theme.

I tried disabling all CSS on my site with my main theme, but the hovers still didn’t work. I’m not sure what would be causing the conflict if it’s not CSS-related. Clearing my browser cache also had no effect.

I haven’t tried disabling addons yet, but I’m thinking that shouldn’t matter since switching themes makes the issue go away. I just can’t think of what difference there is with our main theme other than CSS. Especially since it worked fine on 3.X.

Yeah, no need to both with disabling add-ons if switching the theme did the trick.

I don’t see any obvious conflicts off the bat and, honestly, it’s a little tough for me to troubleshoot since it seems to be triggered by something in the theme. Do you have any other clues as far other recent updates to the site? I can try to help as best I can!

I haven’t made any updates to the site other than updating my plugins this morning (which included the Events Calendar 4.0 and Pro 4.0).

I’m guessing this has something to do with a javascript conflict — do you know offhand which js file The Events Calendar uses for the hover function?

Yeah, absolutely! It is coming from the tribe-events.min.js. The source file, though, is tribe-events.js and tribe_ev.tooltips() is the called method.
