In Month view, multiple occurrences of events from different days are displaying on a single day. For example, on July 12 occurrences of Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition are shown for 7/8, 7/9 and 7/10.

In Week view, occurrences also display in multiples and from the wrong date…and they overlap.

MemberGood evening Michael and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the events not displaying properly in your different views.
I would love to help you with this topic.By the looks of it, I believe this might be caused by the way the recurring events are setup in the backend.
As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Secondly, could you forward me a copy of the printscreen of one of the recurring events “Edit Event” screen so that I can take a look at it ?
Finally, keeping in mind I have not seen that screen yet, I believe that this is caused by the “End time” field in the original recurring event.
For example, if I want an event to go from July 8th until July 23rd, the end time of the event should be on July 8th (at the time of closing) and not on July 23rd. This is because July 23rd will be handled by the recurring events. In other words, you don’t want to be duplicating 1 super long event that spans from July 8th to July 23rd.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantGeoff —
I sent system info the first time. You were right about the issue. I repeated the entire series. I corrected most of it. But there is one event that keeps repeating the entire series each time I recreate it with proper settings (event begins and ends on a single day, then set recurrence).
I’ve deleted the series, re-saved permalinks, created a new name for the event, repaired all WP tables in MySQL. Still repeats the entire series when I try to recreate it.

MemberGood evening Michael,
Thank you for writing back.
My apologies for the system information double request.
That being said, I am glad that you managed to fix most of your recurring issues.
If I understand this correctly, there is only one event left that seems to be causing issues.
Could you forward me a copy of the printscreen that recurring event’s “Edit Event” screen so that I can take a look at it and run some tests ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantI assume the event dates and recurrence is what you want to look at. I’ve attached screen captures of the edit screen for the Billy Brauer event and only a small fraction of the Events it created. There are currently 1,057 events and more get created each time I revisit the editing screen for Billy Brauer or Big Red Barn Art Show.
Happy to create a login for you if you want to see for yourself.

ParticipantAttached here is the Red Barn event. I now have 1,727 events as a result of revisiting editing screens. Billy Brauer event has the event date and specific dates on which it occurs (it only occurs on weekends). Red Barn event is the reverse. Screen capture is after recreating it, but not yet adding exclusions (closed M,T,W). Like the Brauer event, it generates tons of events for each day.

ParticipantI tried recreating the Red Barn event again. This time, I used Custom recurrence weekly, Thursday thru Sunday (wish I’d learned more about this one earlier – would have saved time). Anyway. Same result. It created 281 instances of the event. I’ve read the Primer. Matched settings to screenshots there. Different results.

MemberGood evening Michael,
Thank you for writing back and providing very useful details.
I was able to reproduce the issue on my install and this is a legitimate bug which is now one of our top priorities.
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date for a fix at this point.
But you will be contacted as soon as there is one or as soon as we have a temporary workaround for it.Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused so far.
Hang tight as we work on fixing this.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHey Michael,
About half an hour ago we published version 4.2.2.1 of Events Calendar Pro—this includes a fix for these issues.
Please try updating to this version of Events Calendar Pro (while making sure that your version of The Events Calendar is up-to-date at version 4.2.2, as well).
This should prevent the problem from happening again. If you have many instances of recurring events that you want to delete, I’d recommend searching for a free “bulk deletion” plugin on WordPress.org. There are many options—choose one that looks right to you, and it should help with the process of deleting many events at a time.
Let us know if the update helps!
Thank you,
