    Hi,

I want to know how can the administrator modify attendee information.
As there are many tickets with NO info, we are calling customers and ask the information.
How can we insert that information back into the system?

    happy thanksgiving day,

    Damian

    Hello Damian,

Thanks for reaching out with you issue and I’m really sorry about this.

Unfortunately modifying the attendee meta in the wp admin is not possible out of the box.

It could be done with some custom development, however we are limited in supporting that.

Here is though a list of developers from the community who might be able to help you out with it:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/find-a-customizer/

The source of this issue could be that people take one ticket, fill out the attendee meta, put it in the cart, then they add more tickets in the cart. Unfortunately on the cart page it is not possible any more to add attendee data to the newly added tickets.

One workaround is to disable the quantity selector on the cart page.

This snippet should help you achieve this.

Let me know if this helps.

    Cheers,
    Andras

    Hi Andras,

I had installed the snippet. Anyway there are people that are buying tickets with all the attendee info, so something appears not to be working with the validation you did.
But anyway, the topic of this thread was the necessity of modifying attendee info from the admin.
We are a company that do programming, but I think this should be included in your release, not to be programmed aside.

Do you have a guidance of how to achieve this? for example where is the form that allow a client to modify the info?

    thanks,

    Damian

    Hi Damian,

We do (did) have a custom snippet that would allow editing the attendee info, however I tested that before I wrote to you and it gave me a fatal error on activation. That is why I didn’t dare to share it with you. I talked with the snippet dev and he said it should still work.

You should be able to get the snippet from here and use that as a base for now:

    https://slack-files.com/T0258N5TN-F0UC3DURE-609f1a6719

I understand your request as that being a feature in our plugins. We get a lot of different feature requests and it is difficult to develop all or even to prioritize which one would be the best / nest.

If you think that is something you would like I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there.

I hope the above helps. Let me know if you need any more info.

    Cheers,

    Andras

Hi! thanks for the answer. It is good to know that you had this snippet… but unfortunately is not working for me.
    It says:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘class’ (T_CLASS) in /nfs/c09/h04/mnt/209186/domains/tickets.otg.global/html/wp-content/themes/twentysixteen-child/functions.php on line 98

Could you please ask the snippet dev about this? probably he will be able to drive me through a solution.

    thanks

    Damian

    Hi Damian,

I’m sorry it doesn’t work for you either.

Usually this kind of help is beyond the scope of our support but I’ll try to ask the dev if he can help out. I cannot promise anything. I’ll let you know.

    Hi again,

So, we worked on it again, and it throws the error b/c when you saved the file you most probably used utf-8 / unicode encoding. That was my error. If you save the file as ANSI, then it should work.

    Or try downloading from here:

    https://gist.github.com/andrasguseo/ec8bb9457e6b559894d5ab3c4a4c1e73

    This worked for me.

    Two notes:

    • Click on the field to edit, then hit Enter to save.
    • Only works for metadata, not for purchaser data.

    Let me know.

    Cheers,
    Andras
