ParticipantHello. From a past support ticket we learned that you created a “helper plugin”, which allows the calendar widget to move forward to the next month that actually contains an event if you have a blank month. This is helpful if there are months with no events, however, we have months that have only one event so we are wondering if there are any “helper plugins” that shows the current month but it allows you to list upcoming events below the calendar from that month as well as from future months? So it looks like there is more going on than just that one event.

KeymasterHi Emma,
Thanks for reaching out!
Hi! After reviewing your request this essentially looks like a custom development task and so is outside of our stated scope of support.
With that being said, we’d love to help point you in the right direction.
Do you possible have a link to that support ticket where this helper plugin / snippet was mentioned?
Also, to have a clear understanding, is this what you would like to achieve?
You are using the widget called Events Calendar.
You would like the list of events listed below the calendar to be expanded so that also events from upcoming months show up. E.g. we are in August, you see the only event from August and events from September and more until you reach the number of events / limit set up in the widget.
We do need to prioritize support requests from other customers at this time but I’ll certainly flag this with the team and – although we can’t make any promises – if we have time and space to come back and help, we’ll be happy to do so. Please let us know if you’d like to go this route so that you can be added to this queue.
In the meantime, if there is any more information you can share (including mocks) that will help us to better understand what you are seeking please do feel free to add them to this ticket.
If you urgently need help with this, however, you may instead wish to consider working with a suitably skilled developer or designer who can offer the additional level of support you require.
Thanks
Andras

ParticipantHi Andras. Here is the link to the last ticket regarding the helper plugin:
and yes, the example you said “E.g. we are in August, you see the only event from August and events from September and more until you reach the number of events / limit set up in the widget.” is exactly what we are looking for. Right now, for another example, our April calendar only had one event on the 21st so now being that it is after the 21st of the month, there are no events listed below the calendar. It would be nice to have May and/or June events listed there so it’s not blank. http://desertchorale.org/
Please add this request to your team. This is not urgent but would be a great feature!
Thank you.

KeymasterThanks Emma,
I will let the team know and we’ll get back to you when we can tackle this.

MemberThere’s actually an open feature request for this, Emma – though not many users seem to have requested the same thing in recent times.
Here’s a snippet, though, that might help:
https://gist.github.com/barryhughes/02be595a05483c4c0a03b2a9bb1cd363
It could be added either to a custom plugin (preferred) or else to your theme’s functions.php file.
This will include events from other months on initial load only but can easily be modified so that it behaves in a similar fashion if you page forward/backwards.
Hope it helps 🙂

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
