Meta Hyperlinks

Hi there,

Hoping someone can help me with Hyperlinks in the events meta section on Single Item View.

In single Item view, event categories and tags are hyperlinked. The category hyperlinks to a calendar view filtered by that category. This is the expected behaviour and the behaviour that I want from Event Tags and from Event Custom Fields. Therefore I have two questions:

1. The tags in my event meta point to https://www.homepage.co.uk/tag/tagname/ instead of https://www.homepage.co.uk/events/tag/tagname meaning that they show items in the default blog format rather than the calendar format. How can I ensure the meta tags link to the calendar format?

2. Can I set up custom fields to also show up as hyperlinks in the event meta? For example, I have a custom field called Event Distance. If the event has “Sprint Distance” as a value, I would like to hyperlink that so that it links to a view of all events that are “Sprint Distance”. Note that most of my custom fields will be multiple selection checkbox. So in my example an event might have two distances “Sprint Distance” and “Standard Distance”. I’d want two separate hyperlinks in that case.

I hope that makes sense.

The answer to both of your questions is technically yes, however both would require a customization. Our themer’s guide is the place to start if you’d like to give it a shot, and our functions list should also be helpful, such as the tribe_get_events function. If you’d like to have the code done for you, we have a list of recommended developers that you could contact as well.

I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer for you, but please let me know if you get stuck with the code – I’ll be happy to answer questions and help point you in the right direction!
