ParticipantAfter I completed the update on May 9, 2018, my site went down. I deactivated Event Calendar and Event Calendar Pro, and it went back up.
I use Genesis Theme 2.6.1 ..
If there is a conflict, this needs to be corrected on your end. Please reply.May 10, 2018 at 5:08 pm #1527870Victor
MemberHi Michael,
I’m sorry to hear about that problem.
We are not aware of any issues like that with our latest release. so let me help you find the source of the problem.
First, when you say your site went down, could you please let us know more about this? Did you get any errors?
Please share with us your system information by following this guide > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/ ? We’ll see if there is anything strange that would indicate an error from there.
Also, could you please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG ? This will create a debug.log file inside the /wp-content directory.
After that, try reproducing the issue a few times, so that in case there is an error, it will be saved into the debug.log file. Please share that log file with us so we can see if any problem from there.
We always suggest to setup a dev/staging site so you can test things out and make all plugins, theme and WordPress core updates without disrupting the live site. And I’d recommend you make a full backup of your site so in case something goes wrong you can always restore your site.
Please let me know how that goes.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Victor,
1) what I meant by my site going down, is that the screen went blank … it would not load at all. The only error code I saw was 500
2) It seems that the Events Calendar plug in was the one causing the issue, not PRO
3) I have now deleted the plug in, but it won’t let me re-install
4) As far as Debug, and Log, etc, I am lost with all of that …Regards,
Michael Kole

MemberHi Michael,
Thanks for clearing that out.
500 errors means something went wrong on the server side of things, so enabling WP_DEBUG will allow you to get some debug information so we can find the source of the problem.
To do this, you need to add the following lines of code into your site’s wp-config.php file:
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );You should paste that code above this line:
/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */After that, try reproducing the issue. If there is an error, it will be saved into the debug.log file located inside the /wp-content directory.
Also, please share your system information with us so we can see if any problem from there.
Finally, as it’s an issue from the server, I’d suggest you also get in touch with your hosting provider to let them know about this and see if they can offer some insight about it.
Let me know how that goes.
