ParticipantRegarding previous issue closed “Mappress conflict” .. I contacted the dev for the Mappress plugin and this is his reply:
” I think I see the problem, but I think it has nothing to do with MapPress. You’ll need to contact the developer of the other plugin.
It looks like the plugin is adding some query parameters to all queries (not just ones for events), so it only picks up queries with an event date custom field:
LEFT JOIN wp_postmeta on wp_posts.ID = wp_postmeta.post_id AND wp_postmeta.meta_key = ‘_EventStartDate’Now I have no idea what this means but hope that you do and can fix it.
thanks

MemberHi Karen,
Thank you for persisting with this issue and your patience while we looked into it.
You / the MapPress team are correct – we do modify queries where they relate to custom post types with a taxonomy query relating to post tags (of course, we should not generally do this if the query is not related to our own plugin). So if, behind the scenes, the feature of MapPress you are using is indeed centred on their own custom post type and it in turn leverages post tags this is very likely to be the problem and we’ll certainly address it as quickly as we can.
Thanks once again for bringing this to our attention.

ParticipantWould this be related to all of my future events showing up as past events when I activate The Infinite Slider by Mandloy.
It pulls its slides from posts but it seems to conflict with ECP because of the problem mention above.
Please AdviseDecember 8, 2013 at 7:25 am #80709Barry
MemberI’m afraid there just isn’t enough information in your post for me to answer that, markappeal. I suspect this is unrelated though and you should try adding this snippet to your theme’s functions.php file in the first instance (you can probably omit the opening <?php tag). If you find you need more help please do create a new thread of your own – thanks!

ParticipantIt seems related – https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/ugrade-from-free-to-pro/
I have inserted a couple of versions of that snippet to no avail and continue to search your forums for a solution. The problem described here seemed related
I have also seen another post relating to “we do modify queries where they relate to custom post types” (don’t remember the link) related to 3.2December 9, 2013 at 8:10 am #80803Barry
MemberI don’t think it is related to this specific problem – though you’re right, it could be – but even so please respect forum guidelines and create a new post of your own rather than hijacking one created by another user.

ParticipantHijacking? – Really?
I have spent the last several days combing your forums for a solution to an issue with your plugin. If I notice someone with a similar problem and inquire about the similarity how is that hijacking. If anything I am helping you to find a solution to what seems to be a pervasive problem with 3.2 and sliders when it comes to tags and customs posts. Which make multiple customers happy ones instead of frustrated ones looking for alternatives (your welcome) :\December 9, 2013 at 5:19 pm #80906markappeal
ParticipantNot to mention the MULTIPLE posts from people with these similar problems that are saying that the snippet you guys keep pushing as a solution IS NOT WORKING.

MemberHi Karen,
I just wanted to pop in here with a quick update. Although we were not able to get a fix for this into our imminent 3.3 release, it is still on the radar for inclusion in a future build. Thanks for your patience!
