ParticipantHi there- I just finished referencing this thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/map-view-not-showing-any-events/?source=tri.be
However, after resetting my permalink, adding Google map coordinates manually, changing my theme, deactivating all my plugins except Events Cal- I am still not seeing any events in my Map view and am getting a “NetworkError: 404 Not Found – http://boardlifeusa.com/events/events” in my Firebug Console.
Events show up fine in List view, just not map view.
Please help.
Thanks!

MemberHi,
Sorry for the issues you are having with this. I can help troubleshoot them with you.
Thanks for the information about the the debugging you have done.
Does changing the slug on the Events Calendar settings from /events/ help any?
If not please turn on the WordPress Debug and the Events Calendar Debug to see if we can get more information.
Events Debug
Go to Events->Settings->Miscellaneous SettingsThen check Debug Mode
WordPress Debug
Please follow the steps in the WordPress Debug Codex in the Example wp-config.php for Debugging section:http://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress
Please place that coding and the map view a couple times and then check the error log (the location is in the guide) and see if there are any errors.
Let me know what you find out and we can go from there.
Thanks

ParticipantThanks for the reply Brian. I changed the events slug, that did not fix. I turned on the Debug Mode in the Settings and also in the wp-config file. No warnings or errors other than the original Firebug console 404 error.
Please let me know if you would like access to see the debug log.

MemberAre you able to contact your host and have them look at the server logs and see if they can find any errors? Or if the connection to Google Maps is blocked?
When I have gone through all the steps you have done and nothing has helped that has been where I have had customers have success if resolving this issue with the Map View.
Let me know and we can go from there.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Brian- I am receiving no error logs via my hosting account, WP_Debug is still on and so is the plugins debug option. The only thing I can see is the 404 Not Found via Firebug Console. Is there some data from there (Headers, Response, HTML, Cache) that could help?

MemberThere are server logs that hosting companies can check that might not show, that is why I ask. One time this issue was fixed because there was an issue with Zend Optimizer that did not show in the site error logs.
I looked at the 404 Error Console and did not see anything that could help.
I did look at a venue and see the address as coordinates:
39.759304, -105.011323
As you mentioned, but I did not realize you put that in instead of the address.
In the next version we are adding a method to edit coordinates in addition to having an address.
For now please use the Event Rocket Plugin an unofficial plugin maintained by some of our developers that adds a coordinate editor to the venues:
Using that editor you can have both the address and coordinates for a venue.
Please change one venue so it has both and see if that resolves the Map View issue.
Thanks

ParticipantBrian- thank you so much for the support. I have installed the Event Rocket plugin, updated the venue to include both street address and coordinates and the map view now works. No other changes were made throughout the admin section, site or code for those who have this issue in the future.
Thanks again!

MemberGreat, glad it helps.
In a future release of the Events Calendar we are working on a feature to enable you to edit coordinates without the Event Rocket.
For now, I am going to close this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please post a new topic on the forum and we can help you out.
Thanks
