ParticipantHI
When I view the “List View” it shows Events for this month. When I view “Map View” it shows all Events starting from the month of October (the most far ahead event we have) working backwards. This feels very odd and people find it hard to understand.
How to make the Map View display the current month of Events?
Thanks

MemberHello,
Thanks for using our plugins. I can help out here.
It looks like something is reversing the order of events.
Do you have any custom coding for events or any plugins that change the post order?
Can you please follow our testing for conflicts guide and see if that finds an issue:
Let me know about that and we can go from here to resolve this.
Thanks

ParticipantHi.
I have done the following
1) Switched to 2012 Theme. Behavior is the same.
2) Disabled all plugins except the Calendar, the behavior is the same.I would go so far now as to say the Map is behaving very oddly. The order of the events under the calendar is just bizarre. I have 2 copies of this site (one production, one staging). In both sites, the map shows and the events underneath are not shown in chronological order.
I enabled WP DEBUG and added the Debug Bar, there were no errors of any kind.
I checked the Javascript Dev console, there were no errors either.
I have been playing with the calendar again and have tried to explain below exactly what I see happening:-
On initial display of Map, I see a set of events in the calendar with Flags. I see a list under it, ordered October, September, August, July. Then I click “Previous Events”. The order in the list is now April June May June April.
Now I go to “Next Events” again twice (to go forward) and this page is July June.
The order seems to be completely unrelated to chronology. FYI None of the events are sticky.
Now here is the next part – when I use date search, and select June 30, I get the events in the first page of results as October September August July. I click “Next Events” through the search results it gradually goes backwards towards 30 june, but on the last click of “Next Events” it suddenly changes the results to “Events for October 25 – October 29” and shows me one event in that period.
The calendar is at http://www.siebelhub.com/main/events if you want to take a look at it.
Thanks

MemberIt is indeed strange.
There is something causing the order to be off either a bug or a conflict. I do not believe it would be an outright error though that we can detect.
When doing all the steps did you disable the plugins and the theme at the same time?
Also, what hosting service are you using?
And in a private reply can you include all the system info from this page:
Events > Help > “System Information”
Let me know and we can go from there.

ParticipantHi
I did this :
With all plugins ON, switched to 2012 – no change
With all plugins ON, switched back to Magnium Child theme – no change
Switched to 2012 and all plugins OFF except 3(EC + ECPRO + EROCKET) – no change
With all plugin OFF except 3(EC + ECPRO + EROCKET), swiched to Magnium Child
Then gradually added them back until all plugins onAnd I did not notice any particular change in the display during that time.
Hope this helps

MemberHi,
I noticed you are using the Post Types Order plugin.
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/post-types-order
I have that plugin on my test site as it has caused issues before.
Once I activated it, I immediately saw the issue you are having.
That is most likely the cause of this issue as if it messed up my site right away it would be doing the same to yours.

ParticipantWow. Spot on. I dont know how that one slipped by. The ironic thing is (if I had been more focussed) I did my tests in our staging environment (copy of production) and then sent you the stats for production. So I should have seen that the plugin was the “odd one out”.
I’ll go have a word with whoever installed it in production. It has been removed and all is well, the Map View is back as the Default View and our readers are happy!
Thanks and have a gerat day
